President Barack Obama has only been in office for about three weeks now and his transition into the White House has been a rocky one. However the American people need to be patient. President Obama doesn’t have a magical wand that he can just use to magically change D.C. over night. So give him some time people.
Nonetheless, President Obama is taking responsibility for his administrations mistakes in the handling of many top officials being nominated for key positions within the Obama administrations that have tax problems. President Obama admitted in interviews that it is his fault and he has sent the wrong signal to the America people that prominent people don’t have to pay taxes but the rest of America does. That is a step in the right direction for the Obama administration. President Obama is stepping up and accepting responsibility for his own administration mistake in handling many of these top notch officials they wanted to hold key cabinet positions.

That is what President Obama should be talking about and accepting responsibility for going back on his campaign pledge of no lobbyists will run his campaign or administration. However President Obama has not really been held to that fire because if people really did their own research, they would find that many lobbyists were in key advisors during his campaign just like lobbyists were a part of McCain’s campaign.
Now that Obama is President, his administration has can’t hide the hiring of lobbyists because Obama’s administration has vowed to have more transparency. That’s why Obama must be commended for the transparency he has delivered so far. But at the same time, President Obama must not have a double standard within his administration as it has been perceived as right now. The tax issues with a couple of nominees has put a dent in President Obama’s approval rating but at the same time, the issue of hiring lobbyists to key staff positions in various departments of government is another thing that is breaking Obama’s ethical rules he laid out from day one. Therefore if President Obama doesn’t get back the ethical rules he put in place and laid out in a press conference to the America people and the media than many will truly believe that change has not come to D.C.
