Yes absentee fathers are a major reason why the family structure is broken down today. In fact it can be said it is the ultimate reason why, which is rightly so. However simply putting fathers back in homes will not help the family structure but it will be a start. The family structure today needs help in terms of their socio-economic conditions that have left many of these families in dire straits that even with fathers coming back to the home will not help. Therefore we as Americans need to look to figure out an agenda that will help improve the family structure so that it gives families a cushion from poverty.
Many families are not looking for hand outs but they are looking for assistance to help them get on their feet. That’s why America needs to focus on its American families. It is the American family that needs to be strengthened so that the future of America succeeds. If we continue to ignore the American family than it will pave the way for even a worst society than the one we see today. Think about it, marriage rates are on a steady decline in America, divorce rates are higher than ever and single parent homes are at an all time high and are continuing to climb.
With those types of things taking place, it is clear that the American family as we know it needs help. It takes a whole village to raise a child and us as Americans need to realize that our village has been broken so now like never before time is truly of the essence. We can’t continue to ignore the American family and we as a people can’t continue to think that we are not responsible for raising anyone else’s children. However if you have a sister and your sister needs help, do you not help her? If you have an uncle who needs assistance do you not try to assist him? If you have a best friend who is hungry, do you not feed him or her? Therefore when you think about it, we are not simply taking the responsibility to raise someone else’s children but we are perhaps helping to raise the children who are our grandchildren, our nieces, our nephews and our God-children.
The American family needs strengthening and we are the ones who can help these families. We are the ones who can stop this decline in the family structure. Where mothers and fathers fail, we as communities should succeed. Where mothers and fathers can’t provide, we as communities should provide it. Where mothers and fathers become voiceless, we as communities should be heard. We can’t continue to allow our families to be ignored. Our families need us more now than ever.
The American family is not asking for hand outs but it is asking for help in order to help them get back to America’s fundamental principles. If the American families continue down the path that it is going than our economy will continue to suffer, our educational structure will continue to be hindered and the future generations of Americans will be damaged for generations to come. The American family today needs our help and we the people of this great nation must be willing to serve our duty as a nation and make sure that future generations of American families are saved in order to see brighter days and a brighter future.
