America, we have only had 44 Presidents in our nation’s history and what a wonderful history it is. While our nation’s Presidents have not all been great but they are men who have taken the post of President for this nation and have tried to make this nation as close to perfect as it can be. Every President in our nation’s history has done something to put this nation on the track to perfection, regardless if historians or we as people realize it or not. That’s why the importance of President’s Day should not just because Barack Obama is President but it should be because our nation would not be where it is without the 44 Presidents our nation have had.
President’s Day is deserves more recognition and attention than it has received and that is why many of us who got days off of work must realize that without our nation’s Presidents you probably wouldn’t have a job in this nation to begin with. Think about it people, if it wasn’t for the sacrifices many of our nation’s Presidents made that some of the rights and privileges that we have as a people would not be possible. It doesn’t matter if you are a Democrat or Republican, our nation was built regardless of party affiliation and our nation’s Presidents serve all the people regardless of if you voted for them or not.
That’s why President’s Day is suppose to be a time for us as American’s to celebrate all of our nation’s Presidents not just the ones that are constantly talked about such as Lincoln and Washington. While both of Lincoln’s and Washington’s Birthdays are in the month of February, President’s Day is not just a day to commemorate their accomplishments because their birthdays are devoted more towards that. Instead President’s Day is a day for us as America’s to salute all of our nation’s birthdays and it is a day for to look deeper into who are nation’s Presidents really were. Each year, we should take it upon ourselves to learn more about one of our nation’s President.
With America being one of the youngest nations on Earth, we should be proud of our nation’s history and how our nation’s Presidents have helped to shape this beloved country we all love so much. Look the imperfection of our nation can be worse without the 44 man who helped lead this nation through troubling social and economic times. All of us as Americans need to understand that without the 44 Presidents our nation has had than what type of Democracy would our nation have today. All of us as Americans must realize that the 44 Presidents of our country have all helped this nation in crafting policies and legislation that many of us have benefitted from.
President’s Day deserves more recognition and respect than what we are giving it. However I can’t blame many of you when in our own school’s today, we do nothing to teach our kids to celebrate and commemorate our nations Presidents. This has to change America. No matter how you feel about some of our nation’s Presidents, it is no denying that our nation should be talking more about our Presidents than we do on President’s Day. President’s Day is a time for us to teach one another but our nation’s history and the history of our nation’s Presidents.
President’s Day should be recognized in our homes and it should be a reflection on our nation’s history. In fact President’s Day should be celebrated at our jobs and at schools meaning colleges and universities because without our nation’s Presidents where would our nation be. Without those who have held the post of Commander and Chief, where would our nation be. Our nation’s Presidents reflect a part of America that lies within our society. Some of our Presidents symbolize the importance of education, others symbolize the importance of networking while others symbolize the blemishes in our society such as poverty and racism. Nonetheless each President in our nation’s history gives us insight into our nation’s history—the good and the bad. That’s why President’s Day deserves more attention than what many of us give it.
President’s Day is a day for us as Americans to realize the American Dream and those who have helped to try to bring that dream a step closer. President’s Day is not just about getting a day off of work or school. It is not just a day to be proud that Barack Obama is our nation’s 44th President but President’s Day is a day to be proud to be an American. President’s Day is a day to be proud of our nation’s 44 Presidents who have served this nation the best way they could. President’s Day is a day to understand just what our nation’s leaders have faced and what obstacles they have overcome in order to make sure that the right to liberty, equality and the pursuit of happiness are here for us to enjoy.
President’s Day deserves more than what we are giving it people. Hopefully many of us realize this going forward because the recognizing President’s Day is just as important as our nation’s history. Without our nation’s President’s, a lot of our history could be history but not in a good way. That’s why President’s Day is an important day to celebrate and honor.
PRESIDENT’S DAY DESERVES MORE RECOGNITION!
