At the same time the First Lady was at the Education Department to make sure that the department understands that their work is not done and America’s children need their help now more than ever during this time of an economic recession. Also First Lady Obama went to the Department of Education first because she wanted to advocate that education will be a key role in what she partakes in as the new Mother-In-Chief and First Lady. Michelle Obama set the tone for her own First Lady agenda which is for education to be a corner stone to some of the things she advocates for and will do to uplift the spirits of families all across America. Therefore the First Lady’s second department visit was to the Department of Housing & Urban Development.
While at that department she spoke about how this department has kept many families in their homes and how the HUD department has been a key cornerstone to rebuilding urban cities in America. The First Lady is rolling out her agenda by showcasing that she will play a major role in education and urban development. Those are two areas by which she is most familiar with from her days of growing up in Chicago and that will be critical to how she deals with family issues for the American people. Michelle Obama will make sure that the housing issues in America stays an issue that her husband’s administration will address but at the same time she will make sure that they also deal with the development of urban American which is badly in need of assistance.
Michelle knows firsthand how having a good education can benefit someone coming from a poor or working class community because that’s exactly where she came from. So Michelle also knows that in many urban communities, the need for development and growth is critical to stimulating urban cities so that the residents of the cities can take full advantage of what its city has to offer. Therefore Michelle Obama’s agenda as a First Lady will be Families but she will make sure that education stays a priority that is near and dear to heart and that she continues to make sure HUD is doing its job to make life for urban families comfortable and suitable.
Michelle will not forget where she came from and that’s why her focus will play a key role in shaping her husband’s administration agenda. As the First Lady, Michelle will make sure that education in America undergoes major reconstruction but at the same time, she will make sure it undergoes the necessary changes that the department needs to make in order to fix the educational woes that are plaguing America’s children. While First Lady Obama has vowed that she is not a senior advisor to her husband, you can sure bet that she has her husband’s ear as much as the next person. So if it is something she sees out of order or feel needs to be taken care of, she will address directly to her husband President Barack Obama and trust me, Barack will not only look into it but will take action to fix it.
First Lady Obama meet and greets are helping to stimulate her own agenda as well as bridge a gap between her husband and the rest of D.C. First Lady Obama will be a key figure to the success of her husband’s administration but most of all she will be a fighter for the millions of families in American. First Lady Obama’s agenda will spearhead growth and prosperity for many working families if she is able to really do what many of us think she can do. Michelle’s meet and greets are critical to her First Lady success but at the same time, it is critical to see what other departments she visits because that will signal what other areas she will work on as First Lady on behalf of American families.
