It is funny how those of us in the media and those of us who are Obama supporters feel that Sarah Palin is not qualified to lead yet alone question can she be a mother and Vice President at the same time. I never heard anyone question whether Barack Obama could be a father and President at the same time. Questions like that are ridiculous. We need to wake up people and start talking about the issues and the real qualifications of a candidate. I will admit that last week when John McCain announced his Vice Presidential pick, I didn’t know who Sarah Palin was and I never heard about her but I quickly learned about her. However I didn’t just listen to my Republican friends or the news media but I actually thoroughly looked at Palin’s record and I liked what she stands for on in the sense that she is the American Dream and is not a “PROFESSIONAL” politician.
We need to stop demonizing Sarah Palin and saying that she is not as qualified as Hillary Clinton when many women are not as experienced and qualified as Hillary because of Hillary’s remarkable record as a stateswoman. However Sarah has her own qualifications and her own style. She is a mother of five and is dealing with a family issue that many families across America deal with. Teenage pregnancy is an issue that many politicians don’t discuss and Palin’s older daughter being pregnant really reveals to me that Palin is an ordinary person and understands that although her daughter has made a mistake, she is not going to kick her daughter under the bus. Sarah Palin has a unique story and she is just as much of the American Dream as Barack Obama and only in America and possibly in a third world country could Palin’s story be possible. From a soccer mom to a Vice Presidential candidate, that’s a remarkable story.
Palin is from a state that is ignored by many but as Americans at least I know I do all states matter in America and all Americans matter. We can’t simply ignore the fact that Palin was a mayor, an executive officer and Governor within the state of Alaska. Palin has managerial and executive experience and has had to make tough decisions meaning she couldn’t pass the buck on many decisions or take no stance on the issues. That’s what a President and Vice President has to do. The President and the Vice President of the United States of America can’t play the fence on critical issues or any issues, they have to take a stand and act because by not acting, they are avoiding critical executive decisions that could plague many people. Sarah has not had the luxury of passing on the issues and even as a mother she has had to make tough decisions just like Obama, Biden, and McCain has had to do as fathers. People need to acknowledge the fact that Sarah Palin is not your typical politician in terms of her raise to prominence. Just like Obama, she has risen to power in a unique way but in her own way. While Obama ran for President against many of his party’s wishes, Palin ran for Governor of Alaska against many of her party’s wishes. Like Obama, when he ran for U.S. Senate and many thought he couldn’t win. Many in Palin’s party thought she couldn’t win the Gubernatorial race against the incumbent Republican Governor but like Obama, Palin prevailed.
Now as we sit here and look at Sarah Palin as John McCain’s Vice Presidential pick, we question her qualifications based off of her being a mother. Let’s be real folks, the idea that Palin is new and fresh is what makes many in the news media angry. I don’t agree with everything that Sarah Palin stands for but she does have a record that is just as remarkable as Obama, Biden and McCain as well as Hillary Clinton. Palin has had her challenges and has shown that she is willing to go against her party, to go against the big oil companies and to go against corruption. I suggest that people do more research on Palin and I hope many people suggest to the media that they do more research on Biden’s record as a United States Senator as they have done on Palin. I didn’t see as much attention given to Biden’s record but instead many in the media just ignored Biden’s record and have continued to ignore Biden’s 35 year senate record. Instead many in the media and including many people in general have not thoroughly looked at Biden’s Senatorial record which reveals a lot about Biden’s experience and as a change agent.

If you are questioning Palin’s credentials to be Vice President than you are disrespecting the historic nature of the Vice Presidential post and you are discrediting all of Palin’s credentials. Palin is a real person who has been through things that many mothers all across America have had to deal with and continue to deal with. Palin has been able to balance career and motherhood thus far very well. Her daughter got pregnant but at least Palin is not abandoning her daughter when her child really needs her. It is too common today to see that many parents abandon their teen daughters when they become pregnant, thus leaving the daughter and that soon to be baby to fend for themselves which has created a new policy of failed parenting in America. Instead Palin is standing with her daughter and the baby father who wants to be a part of the child’s life and Palin’s daughter’s life because he plans to marry Palin’s daughter. Now that is the good old days. If you got a young girl got pregnant in the old days, you married that young lady. That is very commendable by the young man and shows that his parents have raised him up the traditional way of American values which is just 20-30 years removed.
Simply put, Palin is a credible candidate to be Vice President because if it is change that America needs and wants than Palin is change from the same old politics of Washington. She is not of Washington; she is not from Washington and has not held a sit in Washington whatsoever. Palin has a reformer record and she is by no means a “PROFESSIONAL” politician. Palin is a people person who has done everything for her Great State of Alaska to change the old way of Alaska politics and I believe that she will bring those same credentials and qualifications to Washington D.C. if John McCain is elected President. Therefore both tickets have qualified candidates so let’s stop with the questions of are they qualified but question their agenda and message. Question how the Presidential tickets plan to do what they say and see does their record show any sense of doing that. America can’t suffer from any more talk but we need a record to go with that talk that proves that talk is not cheap.
So no matter who you vote for on November 4, just go out and vote and vote in every election.

What most people DO NOT realize is that she potentially is not merely the next Vice President, she could be the next President. Imagine a scenario where McCain is elected in November and the next day he keels over dead from his health and age issues. This is VERY likely, Palin is voted in as President, and now we have a 44 year old beauty pageant winner from the sticks in Alaska as our national leader. SHE is NOT qualified for this and it scares me to death to think that American policy is dictated by a woman that has more interest in how her daughter is raising her illegitimate child than how we as a nation are going to fix the tsunami of economic problems that are coming as we speak. McCain was quoted "She is either going to be a wild success or a spectacular failure."... WAIT!! Um, I am speechless! Is no one else concerned that this potentially spectacular failure may happen while she is president? I dont oppose a woman in the office, I have to say I MUCH prefer Hillary with Bill's experience behind her in the White House over someone who has been selling fishing licenses to eskimos for the past 10 years.
Chad, you are not looking at her record when you say "a 44 year old beauty pageant winner from the sticks in Alaska as our national leader." That is a sexist comment brother and that's what's wrong with us. We assume she isn't capable of doing the job because of the state she has come from. Look at what she has done in her 44 years and what she did as mayor of that small town and as governor the last two years. Read up on her and become familiar with her. Alaska's economy is not bad compared to many other states and their books have been balanced the last two years under her watch. She has fought corruption and challenged the status quo. Your comment is why I say she is qualied to lead. Its not about experience all the time or how many people you have managed but the results you have produced as a leader that matters. It is clear that if is about experience and management than McCain is the better choice.
Hear Palin's policies first before judging her. Do your research my brother becaus she is qualiified to be President or Vice President adn we have to stop looking for the worse situation but look at the right here, right now. She is running for Vice President and that's what we get when we see her right now. If the later situation occurs than we can get her out of office in 4 years but at the same time, I think she brings a breath of fresh air and change to D.C. She is in my opinion something that is needed in Washington in terms of fighting corruption and fighting against her party and the status quo. In my opinion, she is more qualified to lead than Obama, Biden, and McCain in terms of change and not being of Washington.
