You have got to be kidding.
While there are no perfect families in American society for Blacks to point the finger at Palin about dysfunctional is crazy. We vote for a dysfunctional party that has left us (Democratic Party), we are supporting a candidate that is pro-choice, pro-gay marriage (or civil unions), and supports sex education for 5 year olds as seen in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wr8GW7bCyMQ). He says age appropriate measures are needed. I say teach a 5 year old how to use phonics first. Sex can wait and it is the responsibility of the parent to teach that child(ren) sex on their own merit.
The reason why Sen. Obama is leading by 1% in Michigan. At one point Obama was leading Sen. McCain by 11% here in Michigan. Now his lead has vanished. We can only thank Sarah Palin for that because she has re-energized the conservative base.
Speaking of conservative base this is one of the CORE reasons why she was picked by McCain to run for Vice President. She can REACH out to the evangelical base (regardless if you are Black or White). The false impression was to reach out to women voters. She is doing a extraordinary job reaching out to men of all ages and races.
So here comes the liberal media. They are trying their hardest to get Obama elected. How come the same liberal media has hid the fact that Obama is having a hard time getting grassroots support in the inner cities of America because he refuses to pay street money?
I am not saying that Sarah Palin is the cure for the GOP. But the simple fact that I am hearing that she is NOT qualified to be Vice President is absolutely ridiculous. If Michelle Obama was selected as a Vice President we would be cheering her on even though she does not have any experience.
First, Palin is a governor of a state called Alaska. While die hard radicals of Obama claim that she is not qualified is fooling themselves. She did not even become a Governor because she wanted to become a career politician but because she wanted to see her state move in a different direction. She has done this while maintaining a family life with her husband and children.
Now as Governor, she has maintained a $10 billion budget, Commander-In-Chief of the Alaska National Guard and must oversee 15,000 employees. Obama is not even close.
Second, people make fun of Palin because she was Mayor of Wasilla, AK. Wasilla is a small town. However, she was a MAYOR, an elected official. Young people do not understand this but poke fun at her. Being a mayor has a lot of responsibilities. She successfully handled this.
She has entrenched elites, battling corruption, and reducing the legislature's bloated capital appropriations in Alaska as Governor. Her state is in a surplus while Gov. Granholm has successfully led Michigan to a 8.9% unemployment rate. This, along with her colleagues in the Democratic Party here in Michigan, are successfully chasing young people out of Michigan creating a serious brain drain.
Gov. Palin brings real reform credentials, authentic conservatism, small-government values, and the pragmatic ethos of a middle-class mother of five. Sounds like my kind of woman to me. So how come many feminist groups and Black women I have spoken to denounce Palin as Vice President? I can only think of one thing.
Personal responsibility.
Gov. Palin is not in the business of big government taking care of people who can take care of themselves. I was watching on C-SPAN last week how these feminist organizations got together to endorse Obama because he supports their platform. How can anyone support abortion or killing the unborn with a clear conscious? Blacks must begin to get out of thinking that abortion is a method of birth control or use it as an excuse when one is raped. How do we know that God has a plan for you? We talk about about the importance of God in church on Sunday but what are we doing Monday-Saturday?
And then these same feminist groups applaud Obama for not taking an extreme position on civil unions. In our community we should take a strong position on marriage. Marriage is between man and woman and our community should not support any legislator, candidate or judge (district, circuit, state or federal) that believes in same sex marriages or civil unions.
Ms. Palin is a supporter of pro-life and has demonstrated this by giving birth to a child with down syndrome. If she is courageous enough to give birth to a child with special needs then we should be pro-life in every sense of the word. There is too much death in the Black community and while our churches have fallen silent on social issues our children are running the streets, not receiving an education and have lost hope.
While haters are hating on Palin we should remember how Obama is the least experienced candidate running for the White House. I mean the guy has never ran a city, has never ran a state, has never ran a business, has never administered a payroll and has never led people in crisis.
Carly Fiorina, a senior McCain advisor, called Palin "a person of great accomplishment" and suggested she excites women because she is "a woman trying to balance her work life and her family life, not to mention her incredible track record of reform and taking on, as she said, the good old boy network."
While Palin supports American values in our communities Barack Obama is for the following (as exposed by author Brad O'Leary):
--Blocked emergency medical aid for babies who survived abortion.
--Plans to ban the use of firearms by law abiding citizens—even for self-defense.
--Was abandoned by his bigamist father and raised in a Muslim society—andhow this influences his values.
--Would raise tax rates to a Hoover-like 60 percent.
--Will transform the U.S. Treasury into the United Nations'
ATM.
--Wants fuel prices high and farmland taken out of production.
--Will grant federal medical insurance to 12 million illegal aliens and
increaseemergency room costs alone by $15.4 billion annually.
--Would transfer child-rearing from parents to the federal government with hissecular "0 to 5" program.
I am not comfortable in supporting someone like this for President. If Obama was more moderate I would support him but because he is so far to the left I cannot support him. In fact, while he sits and lies on TV day in and day out he claims he is for change. If that is the case can ANYONE please explain to me why Obama was cited by the National Journal as the most liberal senator in Congress – meaning, out of 535 members, Obama has the most extremist voting record of all his colleagues in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. There is nothing "coming together," bipartisan or "independent" about Sen. Obama. He is all about liberal polices that has failed the Black community for decades.
I cannot support his running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, either. While we talk about Palin's experience let's talk about Biden. Here is a man who always puts his foot in his mouth, first supported the war in Iraq; then he didn't, co-wrote a pro-war op-ed in December 2002 and predicted the United States military presence in Iraq – following the toppling of Saddam Hussein – to last as long as a decade and urged Bush to prepare this nation accordingly. Biden now wants out of Iraq by a date certain. He opposed the surge, as did Obama, and predicted its failure. And he came up with a plan to break Iraq into three parts – a scheme that the Kurds, the Sunnis and the Shiites rejected.
The reality is that we need leadership that is unbought and unbossed. We should support someone who is for our values, for small government and for ownership. Someone who is for families and children and supports biblical principles that are Christ-centered.
I will take Gov. Sarah Palin anytime over the liberal machine that have Black folks hoodwinked and have our people placing Jesus Christ on the shelf for Obama. We need strong moral leadership in the White House. Please keep in mind that Sarah's daughter is NOT running for VP so we can kill that discussion.
