I might have misspoken and my source was wrong because now news outlets are reporting that Senator Barack Obama has ruled out Senator Evan Bayh and Virginia Governor Tim Kaine. Thus sources are claiming that United States Senator Joe Biden from Delaware will be the Vice Presidential choice of Obama. An Obama-Biden ticket clearly helps Obama with his foreign policy agenda but it loses out on helping Obama in swing states and on Obama's change theme. Biden is not change by any means and is clearly apart of the old regime that Obama has spoke about changing with his election to the White House.
Nonetheless, Biden is a strong candidate with foreign policy agenda and can help Obama attack McCain's foreign policy agenda and credentials. The real question though is can Biden stay on message because Biden is a maverick and is used to speaking freely and telling it how it is not how it is politically. Something that got Biden in trouble a lot during his brief Presidential bid that lasted until the Iowa Caucus where he got less than 5%. Now that the same time, Biden might help Obama with the military vote and veterans as well as the Caucasian voters in some states according to sources. Also some political wings say that Biden might be able to help Obama in the swing state of Pennsylvania but I highly doubt it.
If Biden accepts the Vice Presidential ticket, it will be an interesting ticket but in my opinion, it doesn't give Obama all of what he needs to blow away McCain for good. I guess the Vice Presidential picks in this year's Presidential race will be about issue base and not about necessarily who can win swing states. So Mitt Romney just might be McCain's Vice Presidential pick because McCain will need someone with business and economic savvy. However for McCain, Romney can help in some swing states like Michigan, Massachusetts, Ohio and perhaps Pennsylvania. Now it is clear Obama has decided to go with experience and foreign policy thus going away from his original theme of change which ultimately got him elected as the Democratic nominee.
This will be a real fiery Presidential election filled with all types of attacks and more negative campaign remarks from both sides.

Looks like Joe Biden is the man. I voted for Hillary but can't bring myself to support Barack for a multitude of reasons.
It will be interesting to see what happens in November.
Best of luck to you with your own political aspirations.
