2008 Democratic Convention Day 2

It is day two of the 2008 Democratic National Convention and New York Governor David Paterson are among those to speak to the crowd. Gov. Paterson has a unique story in his own right becoming the first blind Governor in the state of New York and perhaps the country. However Gov. Paterson outlined a great message of how the benefits for the handicap have been ignored and the last 8 years have shown to be drastic on the handicap in terms of health care and jobs. Gov. Paterson spoke about how Barack Obama is the right person for the Presidency because America and the handicap community can’t afford 4 more years of the same Bush polices that Senator McCain is proposing to the America people. Gov. Paterson speech gave a lot of information of how he became Governor of New York and how his story is only a part of the American Dream that many of us in America hope and dream of. Gov. Paterson spoke about treating the least of us right no matter what. Gov. Paterson is a hero to some for this speech because he shined light on the disabled and how we need to look for the disabled in America because no one else has looked out for them.

Gov. Paterson really began day 2 off with a bang as a video of a speech Barack Obama gave in Iowa during the Democratic Primary talking about change and what change really is. The speech really outlined what change really is and why Obama has spoke of change so much throughout his bid for President of the United States of America. Following Obama’s video, members of the Congressional Black Caucus came out (Michigan Congresswoman and chair of the National Congressional Black Caucus Carolyn Cheeks-Kilpatrick, New York Congressman Charlie Rangel, Michigan Congressman John Conyers and Mississippi Congressman Bennie Thompson) and spoke about the work of Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Ohio who recently passed away. Cheeks-Kilpatrick gave the speech and began the tribute to her as she outlined the accomplishments of Congressman Stephanie Tubbs-Jones and how she was an outstanding congressman. Followed by Cheeks-Kilpatrick was Rangel who also outlined just how special Tubbs Jones was and why her dream isn’t dead but alive with Barack Obama as President.

The tribute to Congresswoman Tubbs Jones was special as Congressman Conyers came to speak about how special she was an attorney and judge. Conyers outlined how Tubbs Jones was a strong supporter of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s bid for President and once Hillary left the race, she lead the Congressional Black Caucus in backing Senator Obama as the next President of the United States of America. Conyers went on to say how Tubbs Jones vowed to never again allow any Ohio person vote to not be counted in any election. Never again is what Conyers said we will allow what happened in Ohio in 2004 to happen anymore else in America because that is what Tubbs Jones fought for the last 4 years as a Congresswoman. Followed by Conyers was Congressman Thompson, who spoke about Tubbs Jones legacy living on. Thompson spoke about how great Tubbs Jones was and how we can’t allow her legacy to die in vain when we have an opportunity to elect Barack Obama so that Stephanie’s legacy carries on and someone else’s dreams can continue to grow.

After Thompson finished speaking, he asked the crowd to join him in taking a moment of silence on behalf of Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. Then after the moment of silence that was a special yet touching moment to reflect on just how special Tubbs Jones was and Thompson told the audience thank you. Then a video showcasing all of those Democrats who had passed in the last four years came out that included some iconic like figures who have brought the Democratic Party far. Nonetheless, it was a heartfelt and touching moment to see as the laid contribute to so many fallen Democrats. Vermont United States Senator Patrick Leahy took the stage next as he was introduced as the senior Senator from Vermont. Senator Leahy gave a message about how rural America has suffered and how he knows just how bad rural America has suffered the last 8 years because he lives in rural America and has grown up in rural America.

Senator Leahy spoke about how President Bush and Vice President Cheney have given more to big oil companies and big business while leaving rural America behind. Senator Leahy laid out attacks against why McCain will only continue the same polices of President Bush which will hurt rural America even more. Senator Leahy spoke about how with Joe Biden as Barack Obama’s Vice President, rural America homes will be safe because Biden is a fighter for a safe America both at home and abroad. Senator Leahy really outlined how Obama is what rural America needs and what the state of Vermont needs. Senator Leahy said that after 8 long years of suffering, we can now look at hope for a newer day in America with Obama as President. Senator Leahy really gave a message targeting for rural America that showed the distinct differences between Senator Obama and Senator McCain but showcased just why rural America needs Obama in order to rebuild the damage done to rural America over the last 8 years.

Senator Patrick Leahy was followed by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen who was accompanied by Congressional Candidates for Change. Van Hollen spoke of how the last 8 years have been more of a nightmare for the American people than a dream and a beckon of hope for so many in America. He spoke of how that beckon of hope can be a reality with the election of an Obama-Biden ticket along with expanding the Democratic stronghold in the House with the election of Democrats for change. Van Hollen outlined just how the Democrats have begun the change America needs since 2006 when they took back control of the House and Senate. He listed a list of strong historical accomplishments such as the new GI Bill and a list of others. Van Hollen spoke about for the change we need, we need to not only elect him as President but we need to give him a robust Democratic majority in Congress in order to free our nation from Middle East oil, get universal health care and a host of other things that we need.

Van Hollen went on to outline how change started in 2006 but continued this year with victories in places that people thought we wouldn’t win such as in Illinois, Mississippi and Louisiana. Van Hollen than went on to introduce some of the Congressional leaders across America who are with him on stage that can perhaps win in places that have been controlled by Republicans for so long. The crowd cheered each name because the Democrats in the audience were beginning to get fired up and ready to go. Van Hollen than wrapped his speech up by saying that several years from now, many will look at the Presidents in the walls of my U.S. embassies across the world and will see another Great President in Barack Obama. Van Hollen said that America will be great with a Barack Obama victory and a Democratic victory in the U.S. House and Senate this November. Van Hollen clearly left the audience excited about this November and why Democrats will be elected all across America as we change America.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Cecile Richards spoke next and spoke on why her organization has endorsed Barack Obama. Richards spoke about how women all across America will be better off with Obama as President than John McCain. Richards made some strong attacks against John McCain and his record of voting against many healthcare issues pertaining to women. Richards made it clear that Obama is the right choice and that McCain is the wrong choice for women’s rights and issues. Richards made it clear that McCain just doesn’t care about women’s health issues or women’s issues period. Therefore Richards made it clear that if you like the Bush policies and the last 8 years of the same than you will like John McCain because that’s what you get in McCain.

The crowd really got excited as Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich spoke next. Congressman Kucinich came out energetic and excited like he was doing his Democratic Presidential bid. Kucinich really came out saying that this for you Stephanie in honor of Congressman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. Kucinich spoke about how the Bush administration has failed the America people in every way imaginable. Kucinich spoke about how America needs to wake up and realize that we can’t afford 4 more years of the same policies. Kucinich said we need to wake up America because we don’t need 4 more years of a Republican as President. Kucinich said we need to uplift America and America needs to wake up. Kucinich gave a very strong speech that told America to wake up so that we can have universal health care, lower gas prices and we can stop our dependence on oil. Kucinich didn’t hold anything back as he unleashed wealth of attacks against President Bush, Senator John McCain and the Republican Party. Kucinich really hit the hard against President Bush and Senator McCain that we as American’s can’t suffer any longer.

Congressman Kucinich really gave a strong energetic and powerful speech that outlined just why we as American can’t sleep any longer otherwise we will suffer the same things we are suffering now the next four years. It was a real exciting speech that I felt encouraged by as Kucinich received a standing ovation by the crowd and they cheered him as he left the stage. If that stage was for Stephanie than I know she is smiling down on Kucinich right now. Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle spoke later on during the night in which he spoke about America’s economy and how Obama’s candidacy will renew America’s heartlands with jobs that have been lost the last 8 years. Gov. Doyle spoke of the American Dream and how if you work hard and play by the rules than you will be able to go far and wide but the last 8 years, we have suffered despite all of our hard work and it seems that the American Dream has gotten farther away. Gov. Doyle spoke about how with Obama as President, we will see more jobs come about in the Green industry and how renewable energy will be established like never before.

Governor Doyle explained to the audience that an Obama victory will not be easy and spoke of how the Bush/Cheney regime as well as all the Republicans will pull out all the stops to get John McCain elected. However Doyle said that our time is now and we will not be defeated and that’s why all of us across America need to work hard to get Obama elected as President. Governor Doyle really showcased just why Wisconsin and America needs Obama and what Obama’s candidacy means for new jobs and the America economy. Gov. Doyle really showed how a McCain candidacy will not help the American people no matter where you stay. West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin, who is the Democratic Governor’s Association Chair, came on to speak about change and how Governors all across America have to work across party lines to get things accomplished for their states. However in Washington there is gridlock when it comes to crossing party lines especially with the White House. Gov. Manchin went on to say that we need to elect Senator Barack Obama because he knows how to work across party lines to get things accomplished in Washington. Gov. Manchin spoke of how Sen. Obama will end the gridlock in Washington and will work to help all the American people face the problems that have plagued America the last 8 years. Gov. Manchin said that we can’t afford to suffer any longer in America and that the average American needs change in order to survive 4 more years in America. Gov. Manchin spoke about Obama capturing America’s hopes of the kind of change that they want in America. Gov. Manchin really outlined just why Obama needs to be the President of the United States of America so that the hopes and dreams of so many America’s is fulfilled and heard throughout America.

Followed by Gov. Manchin was an introduction video tribute by Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton for Maryland United States Senator Barbara Mikulski. Senator Mikulski came out after Hillary’s heartwarming introduction and spoke about the Women’s agenda that the United States Senate is working on. In fact Senator Mikulski spoke about how the Democratic Women Senators are looking for equal pay for all women and how electing Barack Obama we will finally obtain equal pay rights for all women all across America. California United States Senator Barbara Boxer came out to speak after Senator Mikulski and she spoke on why Barack Obama should be elected and what it means to American women and the right for change. Senator Boxer spoke of how the election of Obama will bring about an energy policy that is in the interest of the people and not big oil. Minnesota United States Senator Amy Klobuchar spoke of how we can’t have 4 more years of the same and that Barack Obama & Joe Biden will save our the middle class. Ending her speech by saying that the women of the United States Senate want all the women all across America to elect Obama-Biden because they are what we need in the White House. It was a very power message and tribute given by the women of the United States Senate on the 88th anniversary of women’s suffrage. The song “Sisters Doing It For Themselves” played next that was really put a warm feeling on the tribute.

Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell came on next and he spoke on how 8 years President Bush and Vice President Cheney accepted the Republican nomination in Philadelphia talking about a new energy plan. However Governor Rendell really went on to attack the Bush administration energy policies and how John McCain has never believed in renewal energy. Gov. Rendell outlined where John McCain really stands on the issues in terms of renewable energy and big oil companies. Gov. Rendell really let loose on John McCain and criticized how the same old energy policies will not get anything done America. Gov. Rendell spoke of how his state has lead America in energy plans before and he connected his state to President Obama and Vice President Biden by calling Obama a friend of Pennsylvania and Biden a Pennsylvania since he was born in the state. Gov. Rendell spoke of how an Obama-Biden ticket will look out for America in ensuring that renewable energy is accomplished and that America stops its dependence on foreign oil. Gov. Rendell really made some hard and sharp criticisms of McCain and the gloves have really off as the Democrats in Day 2 have attacked President Bush and McCain with no hold bars type attitude. The fireworks were mounting as everyone waits for Senator Hillary Clinton’s speech.

Illinois United States Congressman Rahm Emanuel spoke about why America needs to elect Barack Obama and why Barack Obama needs to be in the White House. Emanuel showcased just how Obama is as a person and a leader. Emanuel put on display just how important it is for America to get rid of the same old policies that have put America back and he outlined a strong plan and vision as to what an Obama Presidency would mean for America and America’s future going forward. It was a good speech by Emanuel but it didn’t bring the energy higher to what was expected from him tonight.

Also Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano spoke about how proud she is and spoke about the great Democrats coming from Arizona. She listed the list of Democrats that are from Arizona and how they each ran for President and lost. Gov. Napolitano spoke about her being on the Platform Drafting committee and how we as American’s can’t suffer four more years of the same and why America needs Obama as President. Gov. Napolitano spoke how an Obama candidacy will revive the economy and will help rebuild our nation’s economy. Gov. Napolitano listed detailed examples of what Obama economic policies and how he will create jobs, a surplus, and other savvy but great economically sound initiatives that will help small businesses, the middle class and entrepreneurs all across America. Gov. Napolitano really gave a real detailed outline of Obama’s economic plans and how America will benefit by electing Barack Obama as the next President of the United States of America.

Then Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm led an America’s town hall meeting discussion on the economy and energy. Gov. Granholm was the moderator of the town hall as various questions were asked to four panelists who answered each question that was given in a way that showcased what is the on the minds of the common man. It is clear that energy efficiency creates jobs and will save the environment in the process. While Gov. Granholm was not a real speaker at the convention, she lead a real good discussion that gave insight into how we deal with gas prices and what an Obama candidacy means to dealing with issues that we as Americans deal with every day. The town hall was productive and outlined why Obama will help create jobs as well as efficient energy resources that will save our environment. Gov. Granholm wrapped up the discussion by telling the audience to go to www.barackobama.com to learn more about the plans discussed here today and how Obama’s plans will help all states across Obama.

Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas came on to speak about America’s promise and the change that we need. Gov. Sebelius spoke about her story and how her story is like Senator Barack Obama’s story. Gov. Sebelius spoke about how her and Obama’s story is that type of story that is told in Kansas every year and how the dreams of many Kansas people can only get better with Obama as President. Gov. Sebelius even attacked John McCain and his many houses for which shows he doesn’t have to worry about losing his home because he has seven so if he loses one, he will still have another one to stay in. Gov. Sebelius laid out how Barack Obama will work for rural America, the working class, and the families of America’s heartland. Gov. Sebelius spoke of how Obama will create new jobs for the heartland and will help America’s economy so that everyone benefits from the economic policies of America. Gov. Senator Casey went on to speak about how Senator Hillary Clinton has accomplished so much and how she is uniting the party to help Obama get elected to the White House. Senator Casey spoke very highly of Senator Clinton and went on to attack John McCain of not being a maverick but a side kick for President George W. Bush.

Senator Casey went real hard against Senator John McCain and President Bush by talking about how we don’t have to worry about 4 more years of Bush-McCain but only 4 more months of Bush-McCain. Senator Casey really opened up a sharp criticism about McCain and Bush. Senator Casey made it clear that an Obama-Biden ticket in the White House is what will help America grow and is what will help American’s finally see prosperity in all aspects of their life. Senator Bob Casey made it clear that an Obama-Biden White House, we will see fighters for the American people in the White House for the first time since 2000. What followed Senator Casey speech was Lilly Ledbetter, the Plaintiff in the Pay Equity Supreme Court Case, in which the Supreme Court ruled against her in favor of Big Business. Ledbetter sued GoodYear Tire after finding out that she was being paid less than all her male counterparts but the Supreme Court said she should have filed suit 6 months after getting hired not years later. Ledbetter story of equal pay for equal work is one that resonates with many women as we celebrate the 88th Anniversary of Women’s suffrage in America. Equal rights and equal pay is something that we still fight for America and it is something that we should make a priority in America by making it clear that women should be paid equally as men.

Then the keynote speaker of the Convention, former Virginia Governor Mark Warner, who is running for United States Senate in Virginia, began to speak about America’s future. Warner spoke about how the next President of the United States of America has to look toward the future and has to have plans for the future but most of all, most not be stuck in the past and have past ideas. Warner spoke about how great America is and how only in America you can achieve your dreams even after failing once or twice. Warner talked about the fair shot that America’s desperately want and need but right now it seems as that fair shot is nowhere to be found now days. Warner laid out an American plan and dream that is real but is being slowly taken away for many Americans. Warner spoke of how his greatest gripe with President Bush is that he never really tapped into the resolve of the American people. Warner went after McCain in telling the crowd how McCain will be more of the same and how we can’t afford four more years that America cannot afford by any stretch of the imagination.

Warner spoke of how America has never been afraid of the future and how we shouldn’t be afraid of it now. He spoke of how China is going for the gold and how we cannot allow ourselves to be surpassed any longer by the Chinese. Warner touched on healthcare, energy, and being competitive in the global economy. He gave details on how an administration that believes in science will benefit all Americans and will help our children receive a global education that will help our economy and help our children compete in a global market. Warner really laid out a host of detailed orientated issues that we can address. He expressed to the audience that Obama understands this issue and expressed how he will appeal to world leaders and countries that look at America in distaste. However Obama’s candidacy inspires those leaders and Americans to believe in America again. Warner even spoke about of how this election is not about Democrats vs. Republicans, Liberals vs. Conservatives but it is about the Future vs. the Past. Warner stressed that we only have one shot to get it right and we can’t get it wrong this go wrong.

Warner stressed that we are blessed to be Americans because if our children can get it right in the future by having this opportunities that many of us have never had then it will change the direction that America’s future goes in. Warner spoke about what he did as Governor of Virginia and how he was able to fix the problems of Virginia which are some of the same problems that Washington D.C. faces today. Warner went on to showcase how Virginia is just like other parts of America especially small towns. Warner spoke from the heart about how America can change with Barack Obama and Joe Biden leading the way. Warner spoke about how humble he is to be a former Governor of Virginia, the same state in which Thomas Jefferson was Governor. Warner outlined a speech that focused on uniting Americans to look toward the future and not the past. To have hope toward a better tomorrow as we make America better for our young and our young make America better for the next generation. Warner left the stage with his three kids and a standing ovation crowd that cheered in delight for Warner. It is clear that if Virginia doesn’t elect Warner than I hope his opponent is a way better choice but I highly doubt it.

Following Mark Warner was Ohio Governor Ted Strickland in which Gov. Strickland was greeted by a standing ovation. Gov. Strickland asked the crowd to cheer for Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones because she was a fighter for the great state of Ohio. Gov. Strickland gave a speech that spoke about the economy and the housing crisis as well as the hundreds of thousands of jobs that are continuously being lost in America. Gov. Strickland spoke about how John McCain has never been a part of the middle class and how America can’t suffer 4 years of the same policies. Gov. Strickland really went after John McCain and how his economic policies are stuck in the past and how these policies will continue to hurt America and even set America back. Gov. Strickland went on and on as he attacked John McCain from job losses to connecting him to President Bush. Gov. Strickland even told a joke about how President Bush came in on third base and is now stealing second. Gov. Strickland spoke about how Obama is the change that America needs and how he will create new jobs for not only Ohio but America. Gov. Strickland said it as clear as day that there is not only hope in these dreams but there is jobs. Gov. Strickland was sharp and precise in delivering a message to the audience that Barack Obama is the change that we need and the time for the change is now.

The crowd than heard Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick who spoke about his story being uniquely different from his daughter’s life experiences. Gov. Patrick spoke more in-depth about the heartaches and pains that the American people are facing today. Gov. Patrick really laid out a speech that spoke to the heart of how the generation before us had paved the way for not only America but for the world we see today. That’s why Gov. Patrick says that this generation coming up can see brighter days with an Obama Presidency. Gov. Patrick listed a host of educational initiatives that will help our children become better equipped for the future but most all better to compete in this global market. Gov. Patrick went on to attack Senator John McCain and told the crowd that it shouldn’t be any surprise because McCain as a part of the same administration that says one thing but does another. Gov. Patrick gave a long list of things that the Bush administration have failed on and made it clear that Democrats don’t deserve to win because Republicans deserve to lose.

Gov. Patrick said that Democrats can only win because we have a better vision. Gov. Patrick really laid out a strong message that spoke to how all of us can help rebuild our national community—America—so that America can be better. Gov. Patrick made it clear that Barack Obama is the best choice for President and should be President not because government can solve everything but because we need to rock the boat to get a renewed American story right. Gov. Patrick gave a message of hope and change but most of all a message of Yes We Can that if you want the change that our country yearns for than we need to join hands as Americans to elect Barack Obama as the next President of the United States of America. Governor Deval Patrick left the stage to a standing ovation and it was a very entertaining speech filled with real talk and hope for a better future.

Then Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer took the stage and spoke about how he chose a Republican as his Lieutenant Governor not because it was the right thing to do but because it was the change needed in Montana. He spoke of how Montana is not a red state or a blue state but a part of the United States of America Gov. Schweitzer spoke about why Barack Obama will be a great President and why an Obama candidacy will create jobs for Americans all over. Gov. Schweitzer went on to speak about how him and Senator Obama both grew up in the plains and how growing up there helped shape the policies that we see today. Gov. Schweitzer said that Senator Barack Obama is the change we need and we don’t need more of the same which is what Senator John McCain will give us. Gov. Schweitzer really gave a strong message and allowed the crowd to get into them with their signs and chants. Gov. Schweitzer story in politics is one that is unique and real in the sense that he never really got involved in politics until he ran for Governor. Governor Schweitzer made it clear that Obama is the candidate to lead America into a strong renewable energy system. Gov. Schweitzer went on to attack John McCain’s voting record and him accepting campaign contributions from the big oil industry executives.
Gov. Schweitzer made it clear that Barack Obama has the right energy plan for America’s future and made it clear that McCain is not what America needs. Gov. Schweitzer said Obama is the change we need and is the type of change that we need to stop being dependent on Middle East foreign governments and to start being energy dependent. Governor Brian Schweitzer spoke of how Obama will not just look for one alternative to energy but it will look to all alternatives such as wind, solar, etc. Gov. Schweitzer made it clear that Obama’s plan will give us energy independence and McCain’s plan will give us 4 more years of the same old, same old. Gov. Schweitzer made it clear that Obama’s energy plan is ambitious but we have to start somewhere because we can’t do four more years of the same old, same old. Gov. Schweitzer said that as strong as a team as Obama and Joe Biden is, they need all of us to help ensure that America changes its energy policy for the best. He said we want them to hear you from all across America as you cheer and stand up for Obama and Biden. Governor Schweitzer gave a real cheerful and fiery speech that made the audience cheer for glee.

That set the tone for New York Senator and former Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton who was to appear next. Senator Clinton’s video came in which Chelsea Clinton narrated but featured Bill and Hillary’s mom in the video. The video was very heartwarming and touching. It showed how inspirational and real Hillary and why so many people like Hillary as well as love her. It showed Hillary in various ways and at different stages in her life. It showed Hillary in so many different ways and showed that a woman can be anything they want to be as long as they believe. Hillary stood tall and her daughter Chelsea narrated the video in a very touching mood that all Hillary supporters and all women as well as Americans and all people across the world can be proud of all. I was moved by the video and am proud to have seen Hillary and Obama go toe to toe up until the very end of this historic Democratic Presidential race. Hillary fought the good fight and gave hope to so many across the country. 18 million people stood proud with Hillary and can be proud of the accomplishments she made in this year’s Presidential race

What followed the video was Chelsea Clinton who introduced her hero and her mother Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Hillary came out hugged her daughter and the crowd went wild with each one holding Hillary signs. It was a real proud moment as the song, “She can Change the World” was played in the background. Hillary looked moved and her husband Bill looked very proud of his wife as Hillary took the stage to a standing room only crowd that was filled with hundreds of thousands Hilary signs and screaming voices cheering Hillary. It was clear that the Hillary had to bring it tonight as the crowd waited all night to hear Hillary give this much awaited speech for the ages. Hillary thanked the crowd and everyone else but the crowd continued to cheer as Hillary tried to give a speech over the loud audience that cheered her own. Hillary said that she was her tonight as a proud mother, a proud Democrat, a proud Senator from New York and a proud supporter of Senator Barack Obama. She began her speech by saying that it is time to unite the country and take back the country. Hillary said that it doesn’t matter if you voted for her or Barack Obama, it is time for us to unite because this is a fight for the future and we can’t afford to lose this fight.

Hillary went on to speak about all the things she has fought for such as health care, women’s rights, children, etc. Hillary spoke about how she can’t afford to allow a Republican to be in the White House where all the things she has fought for could be put on the back burner another 4 years. She said no way, no how, no McCain. Hillary made it clear that Barack Obama is her candidate and that is who she will vote for. Hillary scripted this speech just right by making it clear that she is in support of Obama’s candidacy and all her supporters should be too. She then went on to speak about what elections particularly Presidential elections are all about. She laid it out for the America people to understand why it is important that we elect Barack Obama for President. As the camera showed Michelle Obama in the audience and Hillary’s husband Bill, it was clear that tonight belonged to Hillary. Hillary spoke about all her supporters and all the states that participated in this year’s Democratic process as well as her sister’s of the traveling pants suits, she thanked all of them for everything. She then paid tribute for former Ohio Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones and Arkansas Democratic Chairman Bill who was shot to death but believed that the south should be Democrat from top to bottom.

Hillary spoke about why she ran for President outlining what were the issues that she was fighting for all these 19 months ago. She outlined why these are the issues that we fight for and why she supports Barack Obama for President. Hillary made it clear that she supports Obama and told her people to ask themselves were they in this race for her or for those people who have felt invisible for the last 8 years, the mother who works two or three jobs to pay the bills, or the young man in Iraq who needs healthcare. Hilary made it clear that we need a Democrat in the White House and that is why we need to elect Barack Obama. She spoke about having a president who understands the strength and vitality of the middle class. Hillary spoke about Obama being a person who understands that we the people not the big business. She spoke about how we can change our government and America again like we did under President Clinton. Hillary said we can do it again under President Obama. Hillary spoke highly of Senator Obama and Michelle Obama by saying Michelle will be a great first lady. Then she went on to say that Joe Biden will be a great Vice President for Senator Obama.

However Hillary went on to speak about McCain being her friend and colleague but said that we don’t need 4 more years of the same 8 years. She made it clear that she is supporting Barack and it is nothing that she will not do to ensure that Obama will get in the White House. Hillary went on to attack John McCain’s economic policies and joked how it is awfully hard to tell McCain and President Bush apart now days and that is why they will be in the twin cities next week together. Hillary then went on to speak about women’s rights and how she has benefited from the passage of the 88th anniversary of women’s suffrage with the 19th amendment. The crowd was erupted as Hillary spoke about the story of America and how we can give our country back to the people. She spoke about Harriett Tubman and what she told the slaves as she helped them escape. Harriett Tubman told the slaves to keep going even if you hear them calling your name, keep going even if you hear the dogs barking. Hillary said that we as Americans must keep going and we must not only keep going but we must get up and get out there to get Barack Obama elected.

Hillary delivered a clear, powerful and precise message of hope and unity that reached out to all Democrats as well as independents that we need to elect Barack Obama as President. Hillary gave a strong message and the crowd cheered her own. Hillary’s speech was real talk and I loved every bit of it because it was feminist speech but a speech that hit at her very own supporters to ask themselves do we want 4 more years of the same or do we want what I and you have fought so hard to accomplish such as universal health care, better education, renewable energy, and other things. It is clear that Senator Hillary Clinton is a team player and a true Democrat. While many of us want us to tell Americans and Hillary supporters to get over it but it is not that easy. When you put your heart and soul into something like many of the Hillary supporters did for Hillary than you have to understand it isn’t easy to just give it up and conform. However Hillary made sure that her supporters understood that it should not have been about her but it should be about all those stories that I gave you today. Senator Hillary Clinton made it clear that she supports Barack Obama and that all of her supporters as well as all Democrats should support Barack Obama. I commend Hillary for giving the message that she gave tonight. Hillary was genuine and real as well as iconic. Hillary gave a speech for the ages and it should be something many Obama supporters should be proud of and one for which all Hillary supporters should be very proud of.

Day 2 ended with tons of McCain attacks. Way more than Day 1 and it ended with perhaps Democratic Party Unity. Hillary Rodham Clinton made it clear that she is women and hear her roar. Senator Hillary Clinton was gave real talk and a very emotional felt as well as welcoming speech to her supporters and the Democratic Party that she is a Democrat first and above all us. The Democrats came out on top tonight in more ways than one with Hillary Clinton being a big cheerleader for Barack Obama Presidential candidacy.

Jay-Z - History

(Jay-Z - History)Jay-Z - History with Lyrics

LYRICS : [Chorus: Cee-lo]
Now that all the smoke is gone
(Lighter)
And the battle's finally won
(Gimme a lighter)
Victory (Lighters up) is finally ours
(Lighters up)
History, so long, so long
So long, so long

[Verse 1: Jay-Z]
In search of victory, she keeps eluding me
If only we could be together momentarily
We can make love and make history
Why won't you visit me? until she visit me
I'll be stuck with her sister, her name is defeat
She gives me agony, so much agony
She brings me so much pain, so much misery
Like missing your last shot and falling to your knees
As the crowd screams for the other team
I practice so hard for this moment, victory don't leave
I know what this means, I'm stuck in this routine
Whole new different day, same old thing
All I got is dreams, nobody else can see
Nobody else believes, nobody else but me
Where are you victory? I need you desperately
Not just for the moment, to make history

[Chorus: Cee-lo]
Now that all the smoke is gone
(Lighters)
And the battle's finally won
(Lighters)
Victory is finally ours
(Yeah)
History (yeah), so long, so long
So long, so long

[Verse 2: Jay-Z]
So now I'm flirting with death, hustling like a G
While victory wasn't watching took chances repeatedly
As a teenage boy before acne, before I got proactiv I couldn't face she
I just threw on my hoodie and headed to the street
That's where I met success, we'd live together shortly
Now success is like lust, she's good to the touch
She's good for the moment but she's never enough
Everybody's had her, she's nothing like V
But success is all I got unfortunately
But I'm burning down the block hoppin' in and out of V
But something tells me that there's much more to see
Before I get killed because I can't get robbed
So before me success and death ménage
I gotta get lost, I gotta find V
We gotta be together to make history

[Chorus: Cee-lo]
Now that all the smoke is gone
(Lighters. Up.)
And the battle's finally won
(Lighter. Up.)
Victory is finally ours
(Lighters. Up.)
History, so long, so long
So long, so long

[Verse 3: Jay-Z]
Now victory is mine, it tastes so sweet
She's my trophy wife, you're coming with me
We'll have a baby who stutters repeatedly
We'll name him history, he'll repeat after me
He's my legacy, son of my hard work
Future of my past, he'll explain who I be
Rank me amongst the greats, either 1, 2, or 3
If I ain't number one then I failed you victory
Ain't in it for the fame that dies within weeks
Ain't in it for the money, can't take it when you leave
I wanna be remembered long after you grieve
Long after I'm gone, long after I breathe
I leave all I am in the hands of history
That's my last will and testimony
This is much more than a song, it's a baby shower
I've been waiting for this hour, history you ours

[Chorus: Cee-lo (2x)]
Now that all the smoke is gone
And the battle's finally won
Victory is finally ours
History, so long, so long
So long, so long

Man in the Mirror--By Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson - Man in the mirror

I'm gonna make a change,
for once im my life
It's gonna feel real good,
gonna make a diference
Gonna make it right...

As I, turn up the collar on
my favorite winter coat
This wind is blowing my mind
I see the kids in the streets,
with not enought to eat
Who am I to be blind?
Pretending not to see their needs

A summer disregard,a broken bottle top
And a one man soul
They follow each other on the wind ya' know
'Cause they got nowhere to go
That's why I want you to know

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
(If you wanna make the world a better place)
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
(Take a look at yourself, and then make a change)
(Na na na, na na na, na na, na nah)

I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love
It's time that I realize
That there are some with no home, not a nickel to loan
Could it be really me, pretending that they're not alone?

A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken heart
And a washed-out dream
(Washed-out dream)
They follow the pattern of the wind ya' see
'Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me
(Starting with me!)

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Ooh!)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
(If you wanna make the world a better place)
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
(Take a look at yourself, and then make a change)

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Change his ways - ooh!)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make that..
(Take a look at yourself and then make that..)
CHANGE!

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Man in the mirror - Oh yeah!)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Better change!)
No message could have been any clearer
(If you wanna make the world a better place)

A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cook

It's been a long time coming but a change is surely going to come in America and the World! I am the Future of America and the World and that is the message that each of us must carry with us each and every day that we wake up on Earth! I am the Future! You are the Future! We are the Future of America and the World! That is way every election is important--primaries, special elections and general! So vote every year and hold our politicians accountable. Hold our political officials accountable by writing them, calling them and making sure they attend meetings that we the people have. "The Time for Change is not Now but Right Now!"

"EmPOWERment By Any Means Necessary" should be our anthem and should be our creed as we make the positive differences in America and the world that so many people beg for and hungry for year after year! A Change is Gonna Come, A Change is Gonna Come, that's what we must say as we say "God grants us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, Courge to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference" each morning before we go about the task of making a positive change in America and the world a reality.

Born In The U.S.A. - Bruce Springsteen

“When will people realize that we are Americans first and foremost, not Democrats or Liberals, not Republicans or Conservatives, not Independents or moderates. We are Americans. Stop putting a political party above America and stop putting any politican above America. America succeeds because of us the people holding our government responsible no matter the political party because the main two political parties are to blame for the condition America is in."—Hodari P.T. Brown

America with its flaws and all is a country I am proud to have been born in. America is not perfect but my love for it is perfect. That’s why all Americans must realize that we are all Americans. In fact we are Americans first and foremost. We are not Democrats or Republicans. We are Americans.

We are not Muslims, Christians or Jews. We are Americans. Too many times we recognize our differences with others rather than appreciating our similarities which are, we are Americans. We are Americans first and foremost, no matter if we were born here or moved here legally. We are all Americans, here in this country to make not only our lives better but the lives of other Americans better so future Americans can enjoy the rights and freedoms that make us all Americans.

We are all Americans. We are one party united under God. We are Americans and this is the only political party that matters. We are Americans and this is our country so let’s make sure that we make America better than how we found it so future Americans can live prosperous and joyous lives. We are Americans and must not ever forget that.

America will prosper as long we make sure we are doing our part to make it prosper and that means we can’t put any political party or politician above America. Long live America forever and long live America’s service to the world. Together, America and the world will prosper for future generations to enjoy America and the world we live in.

Lift Every Voice and Sing

This video of the ' Negro National Anthem' was originally screened at the historic African-American Church Inaugural Ball in Washington, DC on January 18th, 2009. Many of the esteemed individuals featured in this video in attendance and we presented with the ' Keepers of the Flame' award for the monumental contributions to social justice.

This version of the song was performed by the Grace Baptist Church Cathedral Choir, conducted by Derrick James. The video was produced and donated by Ascender Communications, LLC (www.ascender-c.com) at the request of The Balm In Gilead, Inc.

If I Was President--Wyclef Jean

If I was President that is the people's anthem. We all have ideas of what we can do as President and through this website, we will fulfill our deam as a people!

Somethings Gotta Give--Big Boi ft Mary J Blige

Somethings Gotta Give people and it begins today for all us to make sure that something is us. We the people are sick and tired of suffering. Where is our piece of the Dream that so many people dead for so that we all could see today. This is our time people to change America and the world so that the Next Generation has a better future than the past we inherited.

This is our call to service. This isn't about one political candidate or one political figure. This is about us as people coming together to finally leave up to our potential and achieving the great feats that those before us have achieved. This is our moment to lead our nation and our world to greater heights.

Somethings gotta give people and it starts with us the people making it happen. We have to improve our education system in America. We have to rid the world of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. We have to go to the streets and lift a hand to another in order to decrease poverty in this world. We have to take a stand today and make sure that the future of America and the world is brighter than it has ever been.

Somethings Gotta Give and that is why we must "Remember Each One, Reach One and Teach One so America's future and the World's future continues to prosper."

John Legend - "If You're Out There"

If you're out there than you need to get started in helping to change America and the world. The world and America won't change until you get involved in making the changes you want to see in this world. If you're out there, than you must know that tomorrow started now and today started yesterday so you are behind in helping to the change. If you are tired of hatred, racism, poverty, war, and violence than the time to change it is now. If you want universal health care, world peace, democracy for every nation, equal rights, and happiness for all than you must get involved now to help the save world.

You must believe in the change that you want to see and you must act on making that change a reality. If you're out there than say it aloud and show the rest of America and the world that you're out here to make a real positive change in the communities we stay in. If you're out there than get involved now. I'm calling every women and men to join me as we take back our country right here, right now. If you're out there than the future started yersterday and we are already late so we have lots of work to do but I know we can do it together as one.

YES WE CAN

Yes We Can accomplish anything that we set out to do! We don't need charismatic or inspirational leaders to believe in ourselves and to take responsiblity for our own faith, we just need each other. Yes We Can build a new America and a new world if each of us would take action now to make the changes that we want to see in the world. Yes We Can control government by holding our political officials accountable for their actions by calling them out when they don't pass legislation that supports the common good of all man and by voting in every election to ensure that we have people representing the people locally, state wide, nationally and in the world.

Yes We Can be great! Yes We Can be what we want to be! Yes We Can be glorious in not only America but the world! Yes We can put action behind our worlds and change the world starting right here, right now! Yes We Can as Republicans, Democrats and Independents become one as we freely think about our fellow men and women and make decisions that will be in the best interest of all people and not one single group.

Yes We Can be the change that we want to see in the world! Yes We Can show the world that the youth are ready to lead! Yes We Can put our egos, our social economic statuses, our religions, our educational statuses and our skin color to the side for the better good of the world! Yes We Can be Greater than we have ever been and help others be Greater than they have ever be!

YES WE CAN and YES WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS IN ALL THAT WE DO! YES WE CAN, no matter what others may say, we will be glorious! YES WE WILL and YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN!

YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN is what will be sung from every mountaintop, every riverbank, every household, every school yard, every factory, every sporting event, every college campus and even every place you can imagine in the world is where YES WE CAN, will be said and heard!

YES WE CAN!

Keep On Pushing - Curtis Mayfield & the Impressions

Wake Up People! No matter who is elected to any public office, we have to “Keep On Pushing” as a people to make sure they don’t leave us in a worst state than what they inherited. We as a people have to “Keep On Pushing” to make a difference in the lives of others. We have to have an “EmPOWERment By Any Means Necessary” attitude as we continue to push our agenda that we the people deserve and want better. We have to “Keep On Pushing” to bring about change in a positive way that will benefit all Americans no matter their age, their religion or skin color. We have to “Keep On Pushing” to bring about change that will improve our education system, improve our military, improve our national security, improve our healthcare system and improve our economy. We have to “Keep On Pushing” to bring about change that will leave America’s future in a better than how we found it and that will leave the world’s future in a better state than we imagined we could live it. We have to “Keep On Pushing” to make life better for our neighborhoods, our families and even our quote on quote enemies. We have to “Keep On Pushing” to inspire, to uplift and to guide those who need help spiritually, physically and mentally. We have to “Keep On Pushing ” so that our lives, our future generation’s lives and the lives of those who came before us does not die in vein.

A War For Your Soul

A War For Your Soul-regular version from Erisai Films on Vimeo.

The moment has come for us as a nation of people to finally wake up and realize that our destiny and fate in society has rests on our shoulders. We cannot allow the forces of evil and darkness to drain us out. We have to continue to overcome all odds in order to make the future of our nation better and the future of future generations of Americans better. We have to continue to pray to our Lord and we have to continue to uplift each other in prayer as well as take action against those things that are trying to destroy us. We have to stand up once and for all and be the future that we want to be. Now is our time and we shall do together by any means necessary.

This video was created to inspire young African-Americans not to fall prey to some of the problems they face in society. The use of the voice "Master of Darkness" represents evil, which is where the blame of all problems should be placed, and not on any one group of people. This video should not to be used to divide people (Black & White), there are images of heroes that are white in this video, and there are images of Black & White coming together with the words of Dr. King in the background. Some of the images from the past can be unsettling, but they are used to show all Americans how far we have come, and how far we still have to go. This film is being strategically placed in school systems, churches and youth orgs around the country, in hope of helping a lost generation of kids that we as Americans have forgotten. As fellow Americans we must continue to love each other, and take that love and spread it to the rest of the world. **THIS VIDEO IS NOT FOR SALE & I AM NOT ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR THE FILM, I ONLY WANT THE MESSAGE TO REACH AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT ANY HIDDEN POLITICAL OR FINANCIAL AGENDA.

Sitting On the Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding

"The time for sitting is over! The time for action is now! The time for hope without action is hopeless! The time for change without a positive attitude is a change that we can't believe in! We need change that is positive of helping all people! Our time for action is now, our time for hope is now, our time for change is now and our time to believe that we can do whatever we set our minds to is not now but right now!"

STAR SPANGLED BANNER

The Star-Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key

O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming;
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, now conceals, now discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream;
'Tis the star-spangled banner; O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave,
From the terror of flight and the gloom of the grave;
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave!

O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land,
Praise the power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, for our cause it is just.
And this be our motto— "In God is our trust; "
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.

Black President

Our Time is not now but Right Now! Our Time has finally come to change the world not now but Right Now! If you don't believe that we can change the world than watch as we do it by changing your mind into believing in us and what we can do! This is OUR TIME RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!

FIGHT THE POWER

We got to FIGHT THE POWER! We can no longer sit on the sidelines and watch injustices take place. We can no longer sit by and allow our right to vote to become unexercised. We must FIGHT THE POWER for our past, present and future! We can no longer allow our rights to be oppressed and our voice to become drained by the powers at be. We must FIGHT THE POWER and show that we have a lot to say that needs to be heard by the mainstream media. We must FIGHT THE POWER and live up to our potential as dynamic, unbelievable and phenomenal people.

We must not believe the hype but we must become the hype. We are not Harriett Tubman, Marcus Garvey, MLK, Malcolm X, Booker T. Washington, Carter G. Woodson, W.E.B. DuBois, the Black Panther Party, SNCC, or any other activists but we are the fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, uncles, aunties, and relatives of those who came before us to pave the way for us to FIGHT THE POWER! We are not next Generation of leaders who will not be honored and praised until they die but that’s the fight we accept. We are not fighting the power for glory or fame but we are fighting the power for just causes that most men and women will not understand until years or decades later.

We are fighting for our sisters and brothers in Darfur, Georgia, Iraq, Iran, China and Mexico. We are speaking for those who are poor and have no food or water. We are fighting for those who are sick and dying. We are fighting for universal healthcare across the world and human rights for all people. We are fighting for rich and poor! We must FIGHT THE POWER no matter how hard and tough the road may be. We must FIGHT THE POWER for a better today and an even greater tomorrow!

FIGHT THE POWER!

PEOPLE GET READY

“People Get Ready” our time is coming! We have come too far to turn back now. Our train is coming and it is coming in waves. “People Get Ready”, we don’t need a ticket but we need faith and the Lord will help guide us as we take back America and the world. “People Get Ready” our moment is now and we are ready to see the change we want in America and the world. All we got to do is have faith, hope and prosperity. “People Get Ready” to face your fears. “People Get Ready” to face your demons and the challenges of yesterday because today and tomorrow we will conquer & be victorious. “People Get Ready” a change is coming and our actions will make sure that change is a real positive change that lasts forever.

“People Get Ready” because we have had enough of just talking but now is our time to show action. “People Get Ready” to take back America and the world. “People Get Ready” to take back our communities and to make our streets safer and schools better. “People Get Ready” to make all our dreams come true. “People Get Ready” to see a better present for everyone and a better future for future generations. “People Get Ready” to live up to your potential and to help others live up to their own potential. “People Get Ready” to move past hatred, bigotry, racism and sexism. “People Get Ready” to fulfill the dreams of those who came before us and those who will come after us.

“People Get Ready” as we make our actions speak louder than our words. “People Get Ready” to make words mean something again as we put action to back up our rhetoric. “People Get Ready” as we embark on a new journey that will re-write America’s history as well as the world’s history. “People Get Ready” as we make the lives of others better and the lives of future generations better. “People Get Ready” because all we need is faith, hope and action to make this world a better place. “People Get Ready” to make a difference. “People Get Ready” to fulfill the American dream. “People Get Ready" to live out the American Dream as our founding fathers wanted us to live it. “People Get Ready” because our time is now, our moment is now and our moment in time to change America & the world is not now but right now. “People Get Ready” because a change is coming!

Alicia]
(Let me tell you now)
People get ready, there's a train comin'
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith to hear the diesels hummin'
You don't need no ticket, you just thank the lord

[Lyfe]
People get ready, for a train to Jordan
Picking up passengers coast to coast
Faith is the key, open the doors and board them
There's hope for all among those loved the most

[Alicia]
There ain't no room for the hopeless sinner
Who would hurt all man kind just to save his own (believe me now)
Have pity on those whose chances grow thinner
For there's no hiding place against the kingdoms throne

[Alicia & Lyfe]
So people get ready there's a train coming
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith to hear the diesels humming,
You don't need no ticket, you just thank the lord
