My Perspective: The Left--Right Paradigm
There’s a nasty debate brewing in our homes, on the streets and at our jobs. It is the same age old debate of our American politics which puts the left vs. the right creating a paradigm of who’s right and who’s wrong. This debate puts the left vs. the right in order to create distinction between us the American people and to make us the America people think that one political party is better than the other.
Well let it be clear that neither the right nor the left is right when their rhetoric doesn’t match their actions and when their actions don’t match their rhetoric. The left-right paradigm that is emerging in America has been around for centuries and for decades. Now it is at an all time high boiling point where if you are on the left, you are criticizing anything and everything the right does and if you are on the right, you are criticizing anything and everything the left does. Thus creating a hostile atmosphere where many Americans are being called names that are uncalled for and unnecessary during a time when we as a nation need to be more tolerate and understanding of each other.
However that is not the case in our society as we speak. You can look no further than our television and radio to hear this left vs. right paradigm emerge each and every day. The left have people such as Rachel Maddow, Keith Olberman, Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews, Andrea Mitchell, Michael Baisden, Tavis Smiley, and David Shuster demonizing the right for any and everything they do and calling the right the party of no. However the right has their own spokes people such as Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Greta Van Susteren, Bret Baier, Ann Coulter, Shepard Smith, and Laura Inghram all making the left seem like socialist taxing and spending liberals.
This is the debate we are encountering in our daily lives as the left-right paradigm dominate the discussion of today’s politics in order to get one leg up on the other side. If this is not a call for us in the middle or as some call us, centrist to stand up and be heard than I don’t know of any better time for it to occur. We must stop the left-right paradigm that has become so engulfed with obtaining more power at the expense of ignoring and sometimes destroying the foundations and principles of our United States Constitution.
It is now or never for us to stop the hatred.
It is now or never for us to start thinking for ourselves and stop with the liberal, conservative arguments.
America doesn’t just need pragmatism and idealism but it needs policies with ideas that will help our country not just in the short term but in the long term as well.
That’s the problem with the left and the right. They get too caught up in their idealism to understand what pragmatism really is.
Idealism can and has stood in the way of much progress for our nation. However pragmatism cannot be used in order to push idealism but it must be used to push for the best outcome for us as a nation not just in the short term of our nation but in the long term as well.
That’s the problem with the left and right who believe that their policies are the best policies and no other policy can work. Therefore we as a people suffer when the left and right propose pragmatism in the form of idealism and never bend on their ideas to think for a second that their ideas might not be in the best interest of us as a nation in the long term.
Well America, I am here to tell you that we have to stop these ideological nuts on the right and the left who claim that it is either their way or the high way.
I’m here to stand up for you the people of this nation and tell you that the right and the left only care about pushing their left and right agenda which correlate with each other in order to keep us centrists and independents out of the loop because we think, act and stand up for ourselves.
These are not talking points given to me by some left or right spokesperson but this is what I live by each and every day of my life. I am sick and tired of the left-right paradigm that is dominating our society and destroying our homes as well as our neighborhoods with their policies that only benefit a select group of people and not the entire society.
Last time I checked, this was the United States of America not the United Select of America.
Too many times we get caught in the minuscule debates that the left and right use to keep us from focusing on the major issues plaguing us as a people. This is nothing new to the left and right because to them it is a game that plays on our intentions to dislike either the left or the right while liking the other wholeheartedly.
This is what the left-right paradigm is about. It is about putting friend vs. friend, husband vs. wife, and family vs. family in order for the left and the right to benefit off of our emotions. Think about it, if we get all caught up in believing that the left or the right has all the solutions for us as a people based off of the things they feed us than we will do anything to defend those policies even arguing with a love one about it in order for them to see our way.
This is what we are facing in this country. In fact this is what is taking place like never before but with more passionate name calling and vigorous personal attacks on those who disagree with either the left or the right. I know this is hard for many of you to comprehend because you are loyal leftists and righties but the truth is in the pudding.
The left-right paradigm is hoodwinking us, bamboozling us, running amuck over us and is running all over us in order to keep us from discovering the truth which is the left and the right are connected at the hip. Think about it, when we the people disagree with the left or the right that is when the other side wants to jump on our side in order to play on our sympathy and our emotions. They have been doing this for years in order to control the political spectrum in which the left and right have dominated practically since our nation was founded.
The left-right paradigm wants us to argue over inflammatory issues promoted by political demagogues. That is why we must follow the advice of author Naomi Wolf who says, “Deliberate with your neighbors not the false left/right paradigm whipped up by demagogues.” Instead we need to deliberate with our neighbors over what is best for us as nation and for us as the people of this nation not just in the short term but in the long term as well.
Think about it people, the left and the right will do anything to keep power and control over this nation. They will beg, borrow and steal their way to power and control as long as the left and the right control the debates that we encounter.
Remember for 8 years we have been besieged by politicians, demagogues, and media pundits alike concerning the trials our nation faces post September 11. From the talking heads of television towers to the cut-and-paste political hacks of mainstream newspapers, every authority figure in American culture is crying out, warning us of the new social and political realities that lie ahead, and assuring us that terrorism isn’t just a problem that dwells over there anymore. What these fools and liars fail to mention, however, is that terrorism is only a symptom of an even more deadly and insidious import: tyranny. More specifically, the tyranny of the mind.
Famous evil geniuses like Julius Caesar and Adolph Hitler understood that the easiest way to win a war was not to fight one - not physically, anyway. These men understood that the most efficient way to dominate a people is to make them believe there are no other realistic alternatives, or, better yet, to define what is reality itself. Caesar captured Gaul (roughly modern France) by inciting civil war between the Celtic tribes who inhabited the area, encouraging them to attack and annihilate one another to the point of total exhaustion.
This allowed the future Dictator For Life to march in to (and out of) Gaul not only a hero, but a savior as well. Through his divide and conquer techniques, Caesar portrayed himself to be the only assurance of peace, and through this campaign of propaganda, controlled much of the world. An aspiring 20th century dictator named Adolph Hitler patterned his future empire along similar lines. Hitler obsessed on the idea of racial purity, and inspired racial and religious hatred to such a degree that an estimated 6 million people were murdered in concentration camps, many from the hands of their fellow countrymen. While isolating Jews, Communists, and enemies of the State as dangerous and treasonous elements of society, Hitler quickly eliminated the German (and several other European) people of basic rights of free speech, religious freedoms, and privacy.
Then the dictator quickly eliminated all opposition to his regime via gas chambers and concentration camps all in the name of national security. By such masterful use of propaganda, Caesar and Hitler narrowly defined the problems of society while simultaneously portraying themselves as the only possible solutions, allowing both tyrants to win the first and most important fight of any war: the battle for the minds of the people. Through the same basic tactics, both men gained absolute control over their respective societies. Unfortunately, these tactics of control haven’t been relegated to a dusty history book they continue to rage around those of us in America today.
The American culture of today is being assaulted along the same lines that Caesar and Hitler used long ago, and Americans are falling prey to such tactics in growing numbers with every passing hour.
We are truly a divided people, who agree or disagree along party, ethnic, racial and religious lines. Much like the priests of centuries past, no decision can be made without first consulting our appointed political or social leaders.
We take sides with differing factions within our country, arguing about single issues that are presented to us and whose sole purpose is to divide us into isolated groups. Instead of meaningful debate about the future of our nation, we receive only distractions.
We thirst for truth, meaning, and freedom, but instead find ourselves wandering through the desert of distraction and confusion. We seek leaders, but only receive figureheads.
We have ceased being Americans.
We are conservatives or liberals.
We are environmentalists or corporate interests, Catholics or Protestants, hawks or doves, black or white.
We the people of America are divided among many lines, ultimately under the confines of a system of right and left.
Much like the German people of the 1930s, we are isolated from clear perspective. Much like the beleaguered Celts, we are so distracted by civil war of right and left, we aren’t aware of our country vanishing before our eyes.
The truth is, there is no right or left. There is only right and wrong.
The party bosses and ardent followers would have you believe otherwise. They would have you believe that right is whatever particular party they belong to, and wrong is the political opposition.
This might be true if the sides of today were genuine. Instead, both parties and most mainstream organizations funnel into the same end result: total control. While the left and right bicker publicly on hot topics," the end result is the same, regardless of who is President, or who is in control of Congress.
Less freedoms for individuals, less sovereignty for nations, losses of jobs through insane international agreements like NAFTA, the dilution of American culture, and the over extension of our military. It’s been said that if you don’t like what the Republicans are doing, vote for the Democrats, and if you don’t like what Democrats are doing, vote Republican.
It’s set up like a game. I have my favorite team, and you have yours. I’ll back my team no matter what, just as long as your team doesn’t win. The problem is, both teams are full of scandalous figures that are so busy selling you and I out for their own personal gain, they have no time or desire to help our country in this time of need. While we Americans are busy cheering our favorite politicos and jeering our least favorites, both sides are pursuing the policy of the destruction of America.
Well I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be this way. There is more than just two political parties in this country and the reality is that the best choice for us as people is to be independent from political parties. Independent from the left-right paradigm that is destroying our nation.
We don’t have to play the left-right paradigm game any longer. We can be independent and choose the best candidate no matter their party or non party affiliation.
Think about it people, how often have we seen the selfless supporters of human rights and equality from the Democratic Party speak out against prejudice and hatred, only to support and pass hate crime laws that protect certain types of people more than others? Of course we must stop the mean hate criminals from verbalizing their dislike for others, so we’ll make hate speech illegal, too. The end result is actually an increased hostility for the protected group, while the people as a whole lose freedom of speech and thought.
So we get inequality and thought control in the name of freedom. That doesn’t sound so good. Think this is an anomaly of Democratic thought? Let’s go back a few years to then Secretary of State Madeline Albright, who, after supporting sanctions of Iraq under Bill Clinton, was told that nearly half a million children had died. Her answer? It was worth it. This kind of brazen disregard for human life seems more suited for a Dr. Goebbels speech at a Nuremberg rally, but instead was a key platform of the Clinton administration, darlings of the left.
Well, the truth must rest with the guardians of justice and protectors of America, right? The Republican Party. Why is it that the Bush administration, the group that promised and prided themselves on a platform of strong national defense, allowed the security of our borders to deteriorate completely while we play worldwide war games? Why is it that farmers of the Southwest border must now form militia groups to protect their lives and property from desperate and starving illegal immigrants?
How can we have the capabilities to attack (and defeat) Iraq, half a world away, but couldn’t muster enough forces to defend our own borders? That policy only punishes the millions of legal immigrants that have waited years for the privilege of living here, allowed potential terrorists into the country, and should have sounded alarms to those who belong to the party of Reagan. Wasn’t it he who said that a country without borders isn’t really a country at all? How is it that the promise for a stronger, more secure nation results in a nation teetering on the edge of destruction? These questions will never be answered on Rush Limbaugh’s show, or by CNN/FOX NEWS/MSNBC gang of allegedly conservative talk show hosts, darlings of the right.
In fact Barack Obama and his administration are not immune from the left-right paradigm either. It was just a month ago when our darling and beloved teleprompter President said that our nation was in dire straits, it was teetering on disaster but we have seen worse and will bounce back. Only for him to say just a week or two ago that many people are using harsh language to describe the economy.
Yes, President Obama accused others of using fear mongering to describe our economy and said that our economy is on the rebound and things are not as bad as many people portray it to be.
Now that is truly funny people but many of you probably ignored the fact it was this President and his administration who were telling us the American people that his quote unquote stimulus package needed to be passed right now or things in the economy would get worse. Now President Obama is telling us that things aren’t as doom and gloom as many people say it is.
What people was President Obama referring too? Was he referring to himself and his own administration?
Well it’s neither here nor there now because we are where we are. This left-right paradigm must end and it must end now.
Some might say that this is the way it’s always been, that politicians say one thing and do another. Perhaps that was true fifty years ago, but when the observant person looks at the end results of all these promises and lies, the picture becomes much more clear and frightening.
We are being sold out.
We are being transformed into a society of complete control, where those at the top completely dominate and enslave those below them.
Americans are being herded into pens like cattle. Why? Because of the phony left-right paradigm that mentally enslaves us all.
An example of this horrifying direction appears in an article featured on Alex Jones www.infowars.com, where the federal government, under the auspices of the USA Patriot Act (signed into law shortly after 9-11), no longer needs probable cause to enact search warrants for your library records, hard drives, or even bookstore receipts. This is now a part of the FISA Bill that than Senator Barack Obama promised to vote no on, only to vote yes on after clinching the Democratic Presidential nomination.
This means that any material you check out from the library can and will be monitored and used against you in a court of law. Perhaps you wanted to read a book about World War II era Germany. Could this be used to build a case against you? Could it be evidence of Nazi sympathies and possible terrorist tendencies? Could your recent purchase of a book about the history of Iraq prove you to be a collaborator? How about those websites you visit that speaks out against government corruption, or the death penalty, or abortion? Perhaps you are a thought criminal. Perhaps you need to be watched.
The article went on to say that the typical American shouldn’t worry about such things, because the loving judicial system is here to protect them. Of course, if the judicial system were truly protecting us, the Patriot Act would have been ruled unconstitutional and thrown on the scrap heap with the rest of history’s bad ideas.
Instead, it was passed overwhelmingly by both Democrats and Republicans. But you won’t hear or see any politician talking about this. No, they were much too busy telling us how they were protecting our freedoms by bombing some stooge in the desert (also a former recipient of US aid). How can anybody with a human soul get on camera and proclaim to be fighting for freedom and liberty while at the same time taking it away?
How can our leaders exalt the United States as the best nation on Earth while they destroy it with such Soviet style laws? One might wonder where all the civil libertarians were when this piece of garbage was passed through the Senate and House. Where were the men and women of both parties who swore to protect the Constitution, the rights of the average Joe, and the nation itself? Where are these brave souls, who mug for cable and broadcast TV interviews at every chance? They’re hiding, of course.
None of these sneaks, pimps, or thieves have the courage to openly admit that they’ve sold the American people down the river. They don’t have the courage to admit that they have stabbed us all in the back. No, they’ll continue smiling for the camera and patting each other on the back while they sell us into slavery. I certainly hope they enjoy the thirty pieces of silver. Much like the guards at Auschwitz, these politicians and party bosses point the American people to the left or right, but the end result is the same: death and destruction.
So what is the solution? The truth. Understanding what is happening in Congress today. Learning what laws are being passed, what bills are being considered, what executive orders are being signed. It means learning the name of your senators, congressmen and congresswomen, and letting them know that any move to violate our Constitutional freedoms is unacceptable, and will not be tolerated.
The solution involves doing research on your own time, after or before work or school, and visiting sites that are promoted by the left and the right in order to understand the propaganda they are feeding us.
The solution involves you not only asking for answers but demanding answers and taking action when those answers are not given.
The Bible tells the story of Paul going to a city named Berea, spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ (Acts17.10). A group of Greeks there were very eager to hear the message of The Lord, but were just as eager to check the Scriptures themselves to see if what Paul was saying was indeed true. I ask you to do the same. Be like a Berean. Don’t accept my words as truth and move on, but check for yourself! Use the Internet and C-SPAN as tools, and judge the stories coming from the TV and newspapers accordingly. It will be worth a small investment of time to begin to see the truth!
Once you do check for yourself and grasp the reality of America and today’s world, begin to spread the message!
Check out documentaries by Alex Jones, and distribute them to friends and family. Talk to your parents and children about the Constitution, and the rights we have, and those that are in danger. Begin to build a base of friends that understand the truth, and become involved in local government because all politics are local. It is at the local level where we can begin to destroy the left-right paradigm that dominates our society.
As Jesus said (MT 5.15), No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl, instead it is put on a lamp stand, where it gives light for everyone in the house. Discuss with friends and strangers what you have seen, and ask them to see for themselves and make their own decisions. The truth is powerful and contagious; it pierces through the fog of lies that our modern political situation tries to hide. It will surely make the house of cards that is the left/right paradigm fall. Then we can take back what belongs to us: Freedom!
We must understand that finding the truth and seeking the truth is not easy but someone must begin the fight for freedom.
I’m here telling you that the left-right paradigm is a joke and it is a game that is played on us time and time again. In fact the left-right paradigm is preying on us the American people right now as we speak.
To paraphrase Malcolm X famous words, I'm not here as a Republican, nor as a Democrat; not as a Mason, nor as an Elk; not as a Protestant, nor a Catholic; not as a Christian, nor a Jew; not as a Baptist, nor a Methodist; in fact, I’m here as an American, because as an American, I intend to confront the problems that we are facing as a nation head on for the greater good of the people and not a political party, ethnic group, religious group or any particular organization.
The fact of the matter is that the left-right paradigm is dominating our society in ways that many of us never thought we could see. It is okay for us a people to want certain policies that we feel are not in the best interest of our nation to fail because we want what is best for the short and long term future of America.
It is not unpatriotic to speak out against the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan or the violence on the borders of the United States and Mexico. It is not treasonous for you to speak out against the violence plaguing the youth in Chicago where 508 children were shot in a 16 month period.
If we are going to restore this country to the democracy that the Declaration of Independence and Constitution intended it to be, and in turn, restore it to the greatness that history has shown it can be than we have to stand up to the left-right paradigm right here, right now.
There’s an old saying that if you don’t have nothing positive to contribute you should keep your mouth shut and I am here to tell you that is our problem. We have been shutting up for far too long. We have watched as the Democrats and Republicans display hatred toward each other time and time again in order to make one party look better than the other.
However in the end, it is us the people who are suffering because the left-right paradigm is ignoring the real issues that are plaguing us. We the people have to hold both conservatives and liberals responsible for their actions that could break our nation’s future piggy bank.
I’m here to tell you that idealists, pessimists and even self serving scumbags who want you and I to think that Democrats are better than Republicans and Republicans are better than Democrats, will do any and everything to make sure the left-right paradigm continues well into the next decade.
However we cannot be fooled any longer into thinking the last 8 years were solely the Republicans fault and now the Democrats are coming in to clean up the mess. Be smarter than that people, the left and the right never want to accept responsibility for when things go wrong or bad but they both jockey for position when things are well. All the while, the truth is that both liberals and conservatives are to blame for the last 8 years and the last 50 years of our nation.
As bad as things got under President Bush, it was only until Bush was up for re-election did Democrats want to criticize him but all the while many of these Democrats went along with many of the post 9-11 policies implemented under Bush.
In fact many of the leaders of both political parties contributed to the deficit that President Obama inherited and the truth be told Obama is not immune from the blame because he contributed to this economic debt and other problems he inherited. The Democrats were in control of both houses of Congress for 2 out of 8 years and 4 out of 8 years in the Senate but they won’t tell you that. In fact the left wants us to think that all of America’s problems falls at the doorstep of the right.
It’s easy for them to talk about all of our economic problems occurred under a Republican President and our last economic prosperity occurred under a Democrat. However the left forget that the right helped the Clinton administration and were in control of Congress 6 out of 8 of the years Clinton was President.
But all of that is neither here nor there because the left-right paradigm plays on our intellect in terms of us believing everything they tell us about the other side.
We the people have to elect people who will not only give us something that looks like a different approach but we have to elect people who will give us a major overhaul of the left-right paradigm.
America we need people who will come in and re-write the historic mess that our nation is facing and the same old left-right paradigm game will not help us at this point in time. Electing someone who comes from the same old dance of the left-right paradigm will not help us as a people.
The left-right paradigm would want us to believe that any rhetoric outside of the norm is considered at the very least imbecilic, certainly divisive, and really quite slanderous.
We can’t continue to think that the left-right paradigm will give us any new ideology and methodology than what they have already offered us over the last decades and centuries. We are a nation not in need of perfection and a savior but we are a nation in need of its people willing to step up and strive for perfection as we all become our nation’s saviors.
It’s not about just about the next four years in this nation. It is about the next decade and century for us. For far too long the left-right paradigm has wanted us to look simply at things in the short term meaning today or four years from now but it is time for us as a people to start looking at the next 10 years and so on.
That’s what it is about. We the American people must possess an unprecedented willingness to hear and consider all ideas, but for this to begin to work, we must stop being blindly loyal to the left or the right because that will only stop our progress toward bringing everyone’s ideas to the table.
Simply trashing one parties ideas does not constitute bringing ideas to the table and simply shoving your parties ideas down the throats of others who disagree with your idea will not win others to your side either. That is what the left-right paradigm does. The left-right paradigm only compromises on issues and policies that will yield them more control and power over us the people.
We must now more than ever work together to put the best solutions for America together that will help us as a nation. It is time out for the blame game that the left-right paradigm wants us to get caught up in and it is time for us the people to start putting America first.
Now is the time for not bipartisan policies but for American policies that help us the American people both in the short term and long term. Now is the time to unite and actually try to accomplish some good for the people of this country who are suffering. The left-right paradigm is slowly but surely being broken, depressed, oppressed, and are becoming shadows of their former glory in the hands of the man they think and hope will lead them back to be more than the much laughed at Yanks from across the pond. America has become a joke in the hands of the Democrats-Republicans and disliked more now than they ever have been in history.
The left-right paradigm would make you think that we are not winning but I beg to differ and I am here to tell you we are.
Yes we are.
America is tired and strained...and she's not even as old as some of our allies. Rome didn't fall in a day...and I still hold hope that America will recover before it becomes a waning democracy pining for its yesterdays.
So the words of Malcolm X ring in my head as I discuss this left-right paradigm with you.
I have to stand here today as what I was when I was born: An American.
Before there was any such thing as a Republican or a Democrat, we were American.
Before there was any such thing as a Mason or an Elk, we were American.
Before there was any such thing as a Jew or a Christian, we were American people!
In fact, before there were 50 states, we were American!
And after many of us have long passed from the scene, there will hopefully be this Beckon of Hope on the Hill called America.
I'm telling you like it really is. Every election year the left-right paradigm emerges to rear its ugly heads to tell us that one party is better than the other as if we are too naïve to see the truth for ourselves.
I’m telling you people, the left-right paradigm is becoming exposed for what it is which is a falsehood, a lie, and a traitor to us the American people.
Oh, I say and I say it again, we’ve been had!
We’ve been took!
We’ve been hoodwinked!
Bamboozled!
Led astray!
Run amok!
Now it is the time for us to stand up, take action, and be heard so that we can save our nation and our people from being destroyed by the left-right paradigm.
This is our time to finally put America back on track.
This is the time for us to finally defeat the left-right paradigm!
This is our moment to recapture the center of our nation!
This is the moment where we restore our Constitutional values and civil liberties!
We are Americans and that is what the left-right paradigm fears most!
So stand up, speak out and let the truth be found as well as told like never before!
We are the United States of America and that is what we will always be!
We are one America!
United for All!
Fighting for All!
And standing for the stars and stripes no matter what!
That is who we are and what we are!
We are Americans first and foremost no if, in’s or buts about it!
We are the United States of America and that’s why the left-right paradigm must end right here, right now!
Jay-Z - History
(Jay-Z - History)Jay-Z - History with Lyrics
LYRICS : [Chorus: Cee-lo]
Now that all the smoke is gone
(Lighter)
And the battle's finally won
(Gimme a lighter)
Victory (Lighters up) is finally ours
(Lighters up)
History, so long, so long
So long, so long
[Verse 1: Jay-Z]
In search of victory, she keeps eluding me
If only we could be together momentarily
We can make love and make history
Why won't you visit me? until she visit me
I'll be stuck with her sister, her name is defeat
She gives me agony, so much agony
She brings me so much pain, so much misery
Like missing your last shot and falling to your knees
As the crowd screams for the other team
I practice so hard for this moment, victory don't leave
I know what this means, I'm stuck in this routine
Whole new different day, same old thing
All I got is dreams, nobody else can see
Nobody else believes, nobody else but me
Where are you victory? I need you desperately
Not just for the moment, to make history
[Chorus: Cee-lo]
Now that all the smoke is gone
(Lighters)
And the battle's finally won
(Lighters)
Victory is finally ours
(Yeah)
History (yeah), so long, so long
So long, so long
[Verse 2: Jay-Z]
So now I'm flirting with death, hustling like a G
While victory wasn't watching took chances repeatedly
As a teenage boy before acne, before I got proactiv I couldn't face she
I just threw on my hoodie and headed to the street
That's where I met success, we'd live together shortly
Now success is like lust, she's good to the touch
She's good for the moment but she's never enough
Everybody's had her, she's nothing like V
But success is all I got unfortunately
But I'm burning down the block hoppin' in and out of V
But something tells me that there's much more to see
Before I get killed because I can't get robbed
So before me success and death ménage
I gotta get lost, I gotta find V
We gotta be together to make history
[Chorus: Cee-lo]
Now that all the smoke is gone
(Lighters. Up.)
And the battle's finally won
(Lighter. Up.)
Victory is finally ours
(Lighters. Up.)
History, so long, so long
So long, so long
[Verse 3: Jay-Z]
Now victory is mine, it tastes so sweet
She's my trophy wife, you're coming with me
We'll have a baby who stutters repeatedly
We'll name him history, he'll repeat after me
He's my legacy, son of my hard work
Future of my past, he'll explain who I be
Rank me amongst the greats, either 1, 2, or 3
If I ain't number one then I failed you victory
Ain't in it for the fame that dies within weeks
Ain't in it for the money, can't take it when you leave
I wanna be remembered long after you grieve
Long after I'm gone, long after I breathe
I leave all I am in the hands of history
That's my last will and testimony
This is much more than a song, it's a baby shower
I've been waiting for this hour, history you ours
[Chorus: Cee-lo (2x)]
Now that all the smoke is gone
And the battle's finally won
Victory is finally ours
History, so long, so long
So long, so long
Man in the Mirror--By Michael Jackson
I'm gonna make a change,
for once im my life
It's gonna feel real good,
gonna make a diference
Gonna make it right...
As I, turn up the collar on
my favorite winter coat
This wind is blowing my mind
I see the kids in the streets,
with not enought to eat
Who am I to be blind?
Pretending not to see their needs
A summer disregard,a broken bottle top
And a one man soul
They follow each other on the wind ya' know
'Cause they got nowhere to go
That's why I want you to know
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
(If you wanna make the world a better place)
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
(Take a look at yourself, and then make a change)
(Na na na, na na na, na na, na nah)
I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love
It's time that I realize
That there are some with no home, not a nickel to loan
Could it be really me, pretending that they're not alone?
A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken heart
And a washed-out dream
(Washed-out dream)
They follow the pattern of the wind ya' see
'Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me
(Starting with me!)
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Ooh!)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
(If you wanna make the world a better place)
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
(Take a look at yourself, and then make a change)
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Change his ways - ooh!)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make that..
(Take a look at yourself and then make that..)
CHANGE!
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Man in the mirror - Oh yeah!)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Better change!)
No message could have been any clearer
(If you wanna make the world a better place)
Michael Jackson - Man in the mirror
A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cook
It's been a long time coming but a change is surely going to come in America and the World! I am the Future of America and the World and that is the message that each of us must carry with us each and every day that we wake up on Earth! I am the Future! You are the Future! We are the Future of America and the World! That is way every election is important--primaries, special elections and general! So vote every year and hold our politicians accountable. Hold our political officials accountable by writing them, calling them and making sure they attend meetings that we the people have. "The Time for Change is not Now but Right Now!"
"EmPOWERment By Any Means Necessary" should be our anthem and should be our creed as we make the positive differences in America and the world that so many people beg for and hungry for year after year! A Change is Gonna Come, A Change is Gonna Come, that's what we must say as we say "God grants us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, Courge to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference" each morning before we go about the task of making a positive change in America and the world a reality.
Born In The U.S.A. - Bruce Springsteen
“When will people realize that we are Americans first and foremost, not Democrats or Liberals, not Republicans or Conservatives, not Independents or moderates. We are Americans. Stop putting a political party above America and stop putting any politican above America. America succeeds because of us the people holding our government responsible no matter the political party because the main two political parties are to blame for the condition America is in."—Hodari P.T. Brown
America with its flaws and all is a country I am proud to have been born in. America is not perfect but my love for it is perfect. That’s why all Americans must realize that we are all Americans. In fact we are Americans first and foremost. We are not Democrats or Republicans. We are Americans.
We are not Muslims, Christians or Jews. We are Americans. Too many times we recognize our differences with others rather than appreciating our similarities which are, we are Americans. We are Americans first and foremost, no matter if we were born here or moved here legally. We are all Americans, here in this country to make not only our lives better but the lives of other Americans better so future Americans can enjoy the rights and freedoms that make us all Americans.
We are all Americans. We are one party united under God. We are Americans and this is the only political party that matters. We are Americans and this is our country so let’s make sure that we make America better than how we found it so future Americans can live prosperous and joyous lives. We are Americans and must not ever forget that.
America will prosper as long we make sure we are doing our part to make it prosper and that means we can’t put any political party or politician above America. Long live America forever and long live America’s service to the world. Together, America and the world will prosper for future generations to enjoy America and the world we live in.
Lift Every Voice and Sing
This video of the ' Negro National Anthem' was originally screened at the historic African-American Church Inaugural Ball in Washington, DC on January 18th, 2009. Many of the esteemed individuals featured in this video in attendance and we presented with the ' Keepers of the Flame' award for the monumental contributions to social justice.
This version of the song was performed by the Grace Baptist Church Cathedral Choir, conducted by Derrick James. The video was produced and donated by Ascender Communications, LLC (www.ascender-c.com) at the request of The Balm In Gilead, Inc.
If I Was President--Wyclef Jean
If I was President that is the people's anthem. We all have ideas of what we can do as President and through this website, we will fulfill our deam as a people!
Somethings Gotta Give--Big Boi ft Mary J Blige
Somethings Gotta Give people and it begins today for all us to make sure that something is us. We the people are sick and tired of suffering. Where is our piece of the Dream that so many people dead for so that we all could see today. This is our time people to change America and the world so that the Next Generation has a better future than the past we inherited.
This is our call to service. This isn't about one political candidate or one political figure. This is about us as people coming together to finally leave up to our potential and achieving the great feats that those before us have achieved. This is our moment to lead our nation and our world to greater heights.
Somethings gotta give people and it starts with us the people making it happen. We have to improve our education system in America. We have to rid the world of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. We have to go to the streets and lift a hand to another in order to decrease poverty in this world. We have to take a stand today and make sure that the future of America and the world is brighter than it has ever been.
Somethings Gotta Give and that is why we must "Remember Each One, Reach One and Teach One so America's future and the World's future continues to prosper."
John Legend - "If You're Out There"
If you're out there than you need to get started in helping to change America and the world. The world and America won't change until you get involved in making the changes you want to see in this world. If you're out there, than you must know that tomorrow started now and today started yesterday so you are behind in helping to the change. If you are tired of hatred, racism, poverty, war, and violence than the time to change it is now. If you want universal health care, world peace, democracy for every nation, equal rights, and happiness for all than you must get involved now to help the save world.
You must believe in the change that you want to see and you must act on making that change a reality. If you're out there than say it aloud and show the rest of America and the world that you're out here to make a real positive change in the communities we stay in. If you're out there than get involved now. I'm calling every women and men to join me as we take back our country right here, right now. If you're out there than the future started yersterday and we are already late so we have lots of work to do but I know we can do it together as one.
YES WE CAN
Yes We Can accomplish anything that we set out to do! We don't need charismatic or inspirational leaders to believe in ourselves and to take responsiblity for our own faith, we just need each other. Yes We Can build a new America and a new world if each of us would take action now to make the changes that we want to see in the world. Yes We Can control government by holding our political officials accountable for their actions by calling them out when they don't pass legislation that supports the common good of all man and by voting in every election to ensure that we have people representing the people locally, state wide, nationally and in the world.
Yes We Can be great! Yes We Can be what we want to be! Yes We Can be glorious in not only America but the world! Yes We can put action behind our worlds and change the world starting right here, right now! Yes We Can as Republicans, Democrats and Independents become one as we freely think about our fellow men and women and make decisions that will be in the best interest of all people and not one single group.
Yes We Can be the change that we want to see in the world! Yes We Can show the world that the youth are ready to lead! Yes We Can put our egos, our social economic statuses, our religions, our educational statuses and our skin color to the side for the better good of the world! Yes We Can be Greater than we have ever been and help others be Greater than they have ever be!
YES WE CAN and YES WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS IN ALL THAT WE DO! YES WE CAN, no matter what others may say, we will be glorious! YES WE WILL and YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN!
YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN is what will be sung from every mountaintop, every riverbank, every household, every school yard, every factory, every sporting event, every college campus and even every place you can imagine in the world is where YES WE CAN, will be said and heard!
YES WE CAN!
Keep On Pushing - Curtis Mayfield & the Impressions
Wake Up People! No matter who is elected to any public office, we have to “Keep On Pushing” as a people to make sure they don’t leave us in a worst state than what they inherited. We as a people have to “Keep On Pushing” to make a difference in the lives of others. We have to have an “EmPOWERment By Any Means Necessary” attitude as we continue to push our agenda that we the people deserve and want better. We have to “Keep On Pushing” to bring about change in a positive way that will benefit all Americans no matter their age, their religion or skin color. We have to “Keep On Pushing” to bring about change that will improve our education system, improve our military, improve our national security, improve our healthcare system and improve our economy. We have to “Keep On Pushing” to bring about change that will leave America’s future in a better than how we found it and that will leave the world’s future in a better state than we imagined we could live it. We have to “Keep On Pushing” to make life better for our neighborhoods, our families and even our quote on quote enemies. We have to “Keep On Pushing” to inspire, to uplift and to guide those who need help spiritually, physically and mentally. We have to “Keep On Pushing ” so that our lives, our future generation’s lives and the lives of those who came before us does not die in vein.

A War For Your Soul
A War For Your Soul-regular version from Erisai Films on Vimeo.
The moment has come for us as a nation of people to finally wake up and realize that our destiny and fate in society has rests on our shoulders. We cannot allow the forces of evil and darkness to drain us out. We have to continue to overcome all odds in order to make the future of our nation better and the future of future generations of Americans better. We have to continue to pray to our Lord and we have to continue to uplift each other in prayer as well as take action against those things that are trying to destroy us. We have to stand up once and for all and be the future that we want to be. Now is our time and we shall do together by any means necessary.
This video was created to inspire young African-Americans not to fall prey to some of the problems they face in society. The use of the voice "Master of Darkness" represents evil, which is where the blame of all problems should be placed, and not on any one group of people. This video should not to be used to divide people (Black & White), there are images of heroes that are white in this video, and there are images of Black & White coming together with the words of Dr. King in the background. Some of the images from the past can be unsettling, but they are used to show all Americans how far we have come, and how far we still have to go. This film is being strategically placed in school systems, churches and youth orgs around the country, in hope of helping a lost generation of kids that we as Americans have forgotten. As fellow Americans we must continue to love each other, and take that love and spread it to the rest of the world. **THIS VIDEO IS NOT FOR SALE & I AM NOT ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR THE FILM, I ONLY WANT THE MESSAGE TO REACH AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT ANY HIDDEN POLITICAL OR FINANCIAL AGENDA.
Sitting On the Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding
"The time for sitting is over! The time for action is now! The time for hope without action is hopeless! The time for change without a positive attitude is a change that we can't believe in! We need change that is positive of helping all people! Our time for action is now, our time for hope is now, our time for change is now and our time to believe that we can do whatever we set our minds to is not now but right now!"
STAR SPANGLED BANNER
The Star-Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key
O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming;
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, now conceals, now discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream;
'Tis the star-spangled banner; O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave,
From the terror of flight and the gloom of the grave;
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave!
O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land,
Praise the power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, for our cause it is just.
And this be our motto— "In God is our trust; "
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.
Black President
Our Time is not now but Right Now! Our Time has finally come to change the world not now but Right Now! If you don't believe that we can change the world than watch as we do it by changing your mind into believing in us and what we can do! This is OUR TIME RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!
FIGHT THE POWER
We got to FIGHT THE POWER! We can no longer sit on the sidelines and watch injustices take place. We can no longer sit by and allow our right to vote to become unexercised. We must FIGHT THE POWER for our past, present and future! We can no longer allow our rights to be oppressed and our voice to become drained by the powers at be. We must FIGHT THE POWER and show that we have a lot to say that needs to be heard by the mainstream media. We must FIGHT THE POWER and live up to our potential as dynamic, unbelievable and phenomenal people.
We must not believe the hype but we must become the hype. We are not Harriett Tubman, Marcus Garvey, MLK, Malcolm X, Booker T. Washington, Carter G. Woodson, W.E.B. DuBois, the Black Panther Party, SNCC, or any other activists but we are the fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, uncles, aunties, and relatives of those who came before us to pave the way for us to FIGHT THE POWER! We are not next Generation of leaders who will not be honored and praised until they die but that’s the fight we accept. We are not fighting the power for glory or fame but we are fighting the power for just causes that most men and women will not understand until years or decades later.
We are fighting for our sisters and brothers in Darfur, Georgia, Iraq, Iran, China and Mexico. We are speaking for those who are poor and have no food or water. We are fighting for those who are sick and dying. We are fighting for universal healthcare across the world and human rights for all people. We are fighting for rich and poor! We must FIGHT THE POWER no matter how hard and tough the road may be. We must FIGHT THE POWER for a better today and an even greater tomorrow!
FIGHT THE POWER!
PEOPLE GET READY
“People Get Ready” our time is coming! We have come too far to turn back now. Our train is coming and it is coming in waves. “People Get Ready”, we don’t need a ticket but we need faith and the Lord will help guide us as we take back America and the world. “People Get Ready” our moment is now and we are ready to see the change we want in America and the world. All we got to do is have faith, hope and prosperity. “People Get Ready” to face your fears. “People Get Ready” to face your demons and the challenges of yesterday because today and tomorrow we will conquer & be victorious. “People Get Ready” a change is coming and our actions will make sure that change is a real positive change that lasts forever.
“People Get Ready” because we have had enough of just talking but now is our time to show action. “People Get Ready” to take back America and the world. “People Get Ready” to take back our communities and to make our streets safer and schools better. “People Get Ready” to make all our dreams come true. “People Get Ready” to see a better present for everyone and a better future for future generations. “People Get Ready” to live up to your potential and to help others live up to their own potential. “People Get Ready” to move past hatred, bigotry, racism and sexism. “People Get Ready” to fulfill the dreams of those who came before us and those who will come after us.
“People Get Ready” as we make our actions speak louder than our words. “People Get Ready” to make words mean something again as we put action to back up our rhetoric. “People Get Ready” as we embark on a new journey that will re-write America’s history as well as the world’s history. “People Get Ready” as we make the lives of others better and the lives of future generations better. “People Get Ready” because all we need is faith, hope and action to make this world a better place. “People Get Ready” to make a difference. “People Get Ready” to fulfill the American dream. “People Get Ready" to live out the American Dream as our founding fathers wanted us to live it. “People Get Ready” because our time is now, our moment is now and our moment in time to change America & the world is not now but right now. “People Get Ready” because a change is coming!

(Let me tell you now)
People get ready, there's a train comin'
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith to hear the diesels hummin'
You don't need no ticket, you just thank the lord
[Lyfe]
People get ready, for a train to Jordan
Picking up passengers coast to coast
Faith is the key, open the doors and board them
There's hope for all among those loved the most
[Alicia]
There ain't no room for the hopeless sinner
Who would hurt all man kind just to save his own (believe me now)
Have pity on those whose chances grow thinner
For there's no hiding place against the kingdoms throne
[Alicia & Lyfe]
So people get ready there's a train coming
You don't need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith to hear the diesels humming,
You don't need no ticket, you just thank the lord
