Representative Joe Donnelly, a freshman Democrat from Indiana, has a blunt message for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: Stick to a ``middle-of-the-road agenda'' or their party's control of Congress may last just two years.
So what does this mean for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. According to many critics, the 2006 Midterm elections gave power to the Democrats because many voters were fed up with how the Iraq war was being handled and many feel that the American people were fed up with how the business as usual was taking place on the Hill. So with that being said, Donnelly and the other 33 Freshman Democrats feel that the Democratic Party and House Speaker Pelosi need to work with the Republicans in order to find common ground on many issues so that the Democratic Party doesn't just have control of both the House and Senate for only 2 years.
Therefore the Democrats should seek to work with the Republican Party and find common ground on many issues so that Congress isn't business as usual. The American people are tired of business as usual in Washington and we need Republicans and Democrats to work together in order to solve our woes. Well for the Democrats sake, I hope that they take a different road and try to find middle ground with the Republicans so that their reign of control isn't short lived.
